THE START OF THE STORY

Teresa walks into work and goes to the kitchen. It has been a few days since she had accepted the job deal to DC. She has told most of the team but she hasn't told Patrick yet. Hey, is everything ok? Asked Marcus as he came in and saw his ex girlfriend and close friend standing still in the kitchen.

Oh hey Marcus, said Teresa as she stopped thinking and saw Marcus. Are you ok? Asked Marcus. Oh I'm fine, just tired. Why? Asked Teresa. Ter you have been standing there for almost 10 minutes. What's going on? Asked Marcus.

Before I say this. Please don't tell Jane about this because I am not ready to tell just yet, said Teresa. You know I won't say a word. You know me. So what's going on? Asked Marcus. Peter Danson. He's the head of the DC FBI branch. He offered me a job there and I took it after a few days of thinking about it, said Teresa.

That's amazing Tere. This is huge, it's what you wanted isn't it? Asked Marcus. I know it was but how can I leave this place Marc? Asked Teresa. Every move is huge Tere. I have been living here only 10 years. I lived in London for so many years and I was hesitant at first but then after a few months I knew I had made the right decision, said Marcus.

Teresa thought for a minute and realised her friend was right. It's not like she will never visit but she has to do this for her future... For Jane. You're right. God I am so stupid, said Teresa as she chuckled. No, not stupid. It's understandable but um, said Marcus.

Just then Patrick walked in. Hey guys, said Patrick. Hey Patrick, said Marcus. Hey Jane, said Teresa. You ok there Lisbon? Asked Patrick as he looked at her. I'm fine, just tired, said Teresa as she walked to the coffee machine. Kim walked in. Pike can I see you in my office for a minute? Asked Kim. Sure Fisher. See you guys later, said Marcus as he left.

Are they a thing? Asked Patrick. Absolutely, said Teresa as she chuckled. Are you ok with that? I mean you guys just broke up, said Patrick. We broke up a while ago Jane and I am fine with it. We both agreed that we were better off being friends. They match together, said Teresa. They do, said Patrick.

Have you eaten yet? Asked Teresa. Yea you missed a big breakfast, said Patrick as sometimes he and Lisbon would have breakfast before work. Was it the eggs? Asked Teresa. That I am not saying my dear, said Jane. Teresa smiles.

It was the eggs, said Teresa. Have you eaten yet? Asked Patrick. I had an apple and toast. I couldn't stop for coffee so I got it ready now, said Teresa as she smiled at him. Patrick looked at her up and down and realised she had lost some weight. Lisbon you lost a bit of weight. Are you not eating? Asked Patrick as he was worried for her.

No, I am. It's just I got a lot going on, said Teresa. Is everything ok?Asked Patrick as he was concerned. It's just. I have something to tell you, said Teresa. I'm all ears. Please tell me what's going on, said Patrick as he walked closer to her. All he ever wanted to do was to tell Teresa how he felt about her but now Patrick was worried about what if Teresa doesn't feel what he feels.

Jane I, said Teresa. Patrick stroked her cheek. You can tell me anything. You know that don't you? Asked Patrick. Of course I know that Patrick. It's just hard, said Teresa. Well, whenever you are ready. I am here, said Patrick. Teresa nodded.

Just then Michelle walked in. We have a case guys, said Michelle. We will be right there, said Patrick as Michelle left. We should go, said Teresa. I suppose so but are you ok? Asked Jane. I'm fine, said Teresa as she smiled and left the kitchen with her coffee.

Patrick sighed as he watched Teresa leave. What was going on with her? Does she still love Pike? Thought Patrick as he walked out and joined the group. Ok we have a case. This woman Victoria Williams was found dead in the early hours of this morning but she was missing for 5 months, said Dennis.

Wait, she was only found this morning? Asked Patrick as he was standing behind Teresa's chair. Yes. I find that odd. Which is why we need to speak to her loved ones about this. I called in her sister, said Kim. Why are we only finding out about this case now? Asked Wayne.

Beats me but we know now, said Kim. Lisbon, Jane. I want you both to speak to the sister, said Dennis. You got it Abbott, said Patrick. Yes sir, said Teresa as she was happy she was working with her best friend and the love of her life. Cho. I want you to speak to Victoria's roommate Jaden West, said Kim. Got it, said Cho. Can I go with him? Asked Michelle. Go ahead, said Kim. Michelle got up and grabbed her keys and they both left.

Ready for this partner? Asked Patrick. Always, said Teresa as she got up from her seat and went to her desk. Just then Marcus grabbed a file and Patrick thought it was time to speak to him. Pike, said Patrick. Marcus looked at Patrick. You ok there man? Asked Marcus. Oh I'm fine it's just. I'm worried about Lisbon. Has she told you anything? Asked Patrick.

Jane, you do know that Teresa and I broke up right? Asked Marcus. I do know that but I just thought since you guys still talk, said Patrick. Marcus looked at Patrick. He knew that Patrick was worried about Teresa. Patrick became a good friend to him when Teresa and him were going out but Marcus knew that Teresa had feelings for Patrick.

Marcus thought he would be able to blame Patrick for this but he didn't. Falling in love is out of control and he knew deep down that Patrick and Teresa belonged together just like he and Kim did.

Teresa doesn't love me in that way. If that's what you are worried about, said Marcus. Patrick looked at him. She doesn't? Asked Patrick. I am pretty sure and I don't love Teresa in that way anymore. I love her like a sister but she does want to tell you something, said Marcus.

Lisbon told you? Asked Patrick. She spoke to me first because she was afraid of her own decision. You should speak to her Jane, said Marcus. I will. Thanks man, said Patrick. Anytime, said Marcus as he went to Kim. Patrick smiled at them but now he is afraid of what Teresa has to say to him.

You ok there Jane? Asked Teresa as she put her hand on his shoulder. Huh? Asked Patrick as he looked at her. Are you ok? Asked Teresa as she repeated the same question. Oh I'm fine. Are you ok though? Asked Patrick. I'm fine, why? Asked Teresa as she looked at him. Nothing, it's just Pike told me you wanted to speak to me, said Patrick.

Oh he did? Asked Teresa as she was nervous. Yea he did. Is everything ok? Asked Patrick as he put his hand on her shoulder. He knew after 13 years of friendship that this usually helps Teresa to calm down.

I - everything is fine but would you be able to drive today? Asked Teresa. Sure I don't mind but are you sure you are ok? Asked Patrick. Teresa nodded. I'm fine Jane really, said Teresa as she walked. Patrick looked as she walked. Teresa was hiding something from him.

Just then Wayne walked up to him. You ok? Asked Wayne. Did you just see that? Asked Patrick. Something is up with Teresa, said Wayne. Do you know what it is? Asked Patrick. Not really, said Wayne. Alright. I'll see you later, said Patrick as he got his car keys. Be safe, said Wayne. Will do, said Patrick as he walked off.
