the next day

me and Lynn are hanging out on our bed and our phones buzz

mom and dad want us all to get ready to go to the beach and we need to be out of the house by noon

me and Lynn get up from the bed and go to the closet

"pink or blue?" I ask her holding up two bathing suits

"pink looks better on you" she smiles "but you look good in everything"

I blush and go to the bathroom to change

after me and Lynn both finish getting ready we walk downstairs to meet everyone

we arrive at the beach and after everyone gets settled we all run to the ocean

Liam and Lincoln brought their boogie boards so they were riding waves but me and all the girls were just hanging out and swimming trying not to get run over by the boys

"dude watch where your going!" I yell at my brother who almost ran into me while riding a wave

he just flips me off and keeps going

i roll my eyes and go back to the group of girls who drifted over to the left

I notice that the group is all huddled around Leni and some random dude so I squeeze in next to Lynn and see what they are talking about

"so if you guys wanna come it'll be fun I promise" I hear the guy say

"come where?" I ask

"there's a party tonight a few blocks down from our Air BNB" Luan answers

I nod and they all keep chatting

after a while me and Lynn are by ourselves because everyone else left and are now on the sand

"who was that guy that invited us to the party?" I ask her

"oh he's just one of Leni's random boy toys" she turns to me "she always picks one up whenever we go on vacation and we get invited to these cool parties" she adds

I nod and we keep jumping waves until we decide to go back to the sand because the family was setting up a beach volleyball game for fun

me and Lynn are team captains so we aren't on the same team, sadly

we start picking team members

team 1 - Jules, Luna, Lana, Lisa, Luan, Lincoln

team 2- Lynn, Lori, Lola, Lucy, Leni, Liam

i'm pretty happy with my team and I think we have a good chance at winning (hopefully)

I give my team a little pep talk and we get into our spots

I look over and see Lynn screaming at her team

she so...

my thoughts are interrupted by a whistle meaning the game has started

- - - - -

we decided that whichever team gets to 20 points first wins 

the whole game we were tied and we both are now at 19 points

the sun is glaring down on us and we are all sweating as we wait for Lynn to serve the ball

my whole team knows we are going to lose since Lynn is serving so we just wait until she is ready

she serves the ball towards Luna and she hits it back to the other side and we keep going back and forth (surprisingly) until Liam hits it to the ground and my team loses

I don't even care because it was just a fun game on the beach and I don't think anyone can beat Lynn

I walk over to Lynn and hug her "you were so good" I smile

she hugs me back and smiles too "thanks"

after we all 'good game' and 'great job' each other we run into the ocean to cool off

lynn's pov

I mean I know I'm good at sports but hearing Jules say it out loud did... something to me

it made me feel good

it made me want to do a good job for her

it made me want to kiss her.
