Viserys almost snapped her spine.
He hadn't even waited for her to reach the beach landing. He waded into the water and hugged her the moment their tender boat was close enough, kissing all over her face and pulling her into the sea. Then, he did the same to Daenerys, who squealed in excitement, never having seen him so happy.
"I was starting to think you liked the North better than Dragonstone," said Viserys, pulling them both to the shore.
"Maybe Dany does," teased Ysira, causing Daenerys to blush and roll her eyes. She changed the subject quickly, pulling her brother into a hug, "This is from Maester Aemon Targaryen."
"I am glad you were able to meet him," said Viserys. "Perhaps once this threat of White Walkers is over with, I can fly up to see him."
He had his arms around them as they walked back up to the castle. He told them that he'd been training almost nonstop with Ser Barristan and the Kingsguard since they left– the only breaks he took were to sleep, eat, and deal with the Stormlands. As they reached the main gates, Ser Barristan affirmed that Viserys's time in Norvos had done him well. He believed Viserys was better than Rhaegar was, and trusted Viserys would have given the Kingslayer quite a bit of trouble if he still had his hand.
Viserys didn't think he would have ultimately beaten him, but Ser Barristan was confident it would have been a possibility. After all, Ser Barristan taught both Rhaegar and Jaime, and he was said to be equal in skill to Ser Arthur Dayne, The Sword of the Morning, without Dawn. If anyone could accurately assess strength in sword, it was Ser Barristan.
It was to their great pleasure that they learned the Stormlands were secure. Ser Davos had brought Gendry– now Gendry Baratheon, Lord of Storm's End– and they'd sent him back with men to ensure he reached his seat at Storm's End. He'd already sent word from there and pledged the army of the Stormlands to Viserys. None of their men were going to deny this, knowing that dragons would be upon them if they even tried to flock back to Stannis, who at this point had proven himself as easily beaten as he was unlikable.
"I couldn't have done any of it without Missandei," said Viserys once he was walking alone with Ysira after dinner., "No, really. I don't know how you manage all these things at once. One task to handle alone and I could hardly keep track of things. Missandei would take notes for me."
"Poor Missandei," she teased.
"Yes, indeed. You, my Queen, are unstoppable alone. I almost sank without you." He put an arm around her, kissing her temple. "Please do not leave me alone again to handle these matters."
"I should hope this will be the last time I travel alone," said Ysira. "The North was very nice but I missed you dearly each day. That feeling... I don't quite like it."
He smirked, suddenly giddy. "You know, Missandei told me something one day when I was telling her how much I missed you. She said she fancies Grey Worm."
"Oh! Quentyn once noticed that Grey Worm seemed to fancy her. I'm glad to see it's mutual. And she simply admitted this to you?"
"I think I'm finally considered approachable," said Viserys proudly. "I don't know if she admitted it to comfort me or because she wanted reassurance, but either way, she trusted me! I told her I've set money and a ship aside so they may both go to Naath together if they wish, once I have my throne."
Ysira's gaze softened. "That's very sweet, Viserys. I remember Dany telling me that Missandei wanted to try and go home." She stopped in front of him and kissed him gently, cupping his face. "I am glad to be back here with you. You are my safe place."
