Trystane barged in late that afternoon.
They'd both intended to sleep for only a short while, a few hours for the sake of feeling less exhausted. Those hours passed by quickly, and apparently was too long for those who needed them.
"I've found him!" Trystane shouted from the doorway, the two of them sitting up startled. "His Grace is right here, asleep next to Ysira!"
"Gods, Trystane!" she cried sleepily, a crowd already forming in the doorway. Quentyn and Daenerys didn't look surprised (nor did Daario for that matter), but within seconds, the Sand Snakes had begun to join them, both Obara and Nymeria smirking at her. "Couldn't you have woken us up before you started shouting?"
He grinned, shaking his head. "No, then it wouldn't have been so fun. Father, they're both here!"
Viserys nearly slammed his head on the edge of the bed when he stumbled to his feet. "Your father," he muttered, sliding his boots back on. "He's going to think he gave me his blessing just for me to immediately bed his daughter."
"Well, the Dornish don't seem to mind that," said Ysira, quickly smoothing her hair back. "And I wouldn't say you ought to fear a man in a wheelchair. You're the King, no one is going to scold you."
"Your uncle might."
"My uncle answers to the both of us." Ysira scowled at Trystane, beckoning him to shut the door in everyone's smug faces. Surprisingly, he did. "Well, whether we wanted to or not, something will need to be said."
"Only because I am King, otherwise no one would have to say anything at all. I suppose it is finally time to tell my people who I will marry. Apologies that we didn't wait for Olenna Tyrell's response."
"I doubt she would have accepted to marry Margaery to you," sighed Ysira. "Currently, she has the assurance that Margaery will be Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. We've yet to defeat Stannis and she knows this. Without any feats in battles here, we've not proven ourselves." She sighed, stretching her arms above her head and her legs out to the end of the bed. "At any rate, it is not our immediate next step."
His boots on, he leaned over the bed and kissed her forehead. "No, surely not." He tucked his hand under her chin, having her look up at him. "I say, then, what we have left to do today is introduce you to the rest as my future Queen."
Quentyn and Daenerys were the only ones still lingering outside, waiting as they emerged from Ysira's room, less groggy. "Shall I gather the Kingsguard?" asked Quentyn casually.
"Yes, you shall," said Viserys. "Dany, if you'd please have the Sand Snakes meet us in the throne room with the Princes, Princess, Ellaria, and all our captains. I wish to make this announcement to everyone."
Ysira's heart thumped hard in her chest as they waited for the throne room to be filled by those who would hear this revelation. Quentyn assured her that everyone had suspected it, yet it was still different to finally claim such a thing. To have Viserys acknowledge her publicly as the woman he wanted to rule at his side, to feel safety in telling them all that she cared for him and would be devoted to more than just placing him on the throne. Happiness, loyalty, security, they'd give to each other the things they'd lacked for so long.
"Welcome," said Viserys, standing on the steps of Doran's throne with Daenerys and Ysira at his side, everyone else standing, leaning, or sitting somewhere below. As Viserys spoke, Daenerys translated to the Unsullied commanders and captains, "I thank you for meeting me here. We've yet to determine where our men will move, but it is most likely we will move against Stannis Baratheon before we move on King's Landing. We'll establish our power on this land, crush an opposing King, and bolster our forces by adding to them the men of the Stormlands. We have the North, the Riverlands, and of course our most important allies– Dorne. We seek an alliance with the Iron Islands and we fully intend to take the Stormlands and Dragonstone. With our Northern friends, we may find a way to rip the Vale away from Lannister control and then, will have enough men and ships to challenge the Westerlands, the Reach, and the Crownlands. With our three dragons soon to take flight with three riders, our power will be undeniable and I expect by the end of this coming year, we will secure the Iron Throne and free our Realm of usurpers, pretenders, and tyrants."
