Pietro had done a bad thing. He had lied to his wife. He lied. He knows how Anna feels about liars. That's why she left her last boyfriend. He lied one to many times. He feels like he failed her. He promised her he would come home safe and he didn't. He came home with a bloody and battered face and a fractured wrist.
