The lights dimmed, and the arena fell into an anticipatory hush. The stage was bathed in a soft blue glow, the kind that mimicked twilight just before nightfall. The crowd erupted into cheers as the first few notes of a piano played, signaling the beginning of Chan's concert.
Chan emerged from the shadows, his guitar slung over his shoulder, a familiar and comforting sight to the thousands of fans who had gathered. His voice, deep and full of emotion, resonated through the arena as he began to speak, his words filled with an intensity that never failed to captivate.
"As always," Chan started, his voice steady but laced with a deep-seated longing, "this is for Minho, the love of my life."
The crowd responded with a wave of cheers and applause, but there was an unspoken understanding among them. Chan never revealed much about Minho—whether he was still alive or not remained a mystery. Yet, his songs, every lyric, every note, felt like a love letter to someone he held close, someone who was once his everything.
The concert began, the lights shifting to a warm amber as Chan strummed his guitar. His music was known for its depth, each song a window into his soul, filled with emotions that left no heart untouched. The melodies were haunting, beautiful, and raw, echoing his love, loss, and longing.
Lino, Jungkook, Han, and Seungmin were caught up in the music, their lightsticks swaying in unison with the rhythm, heads gently rocking to the beat. The energy in the arena was palpable, everyone moving as one, completely immersed in Chan's world.
Then came the song "Keep Breathing for Me," one of Chan's most iconic pieces. The stage lights dimmed even further, leaving just a single spotlight on Chan. His voice, full of emotion, carried through the arena, filling every corner with its aching beauty. The lyrics spoke of holding on, of love that transcends time and space, of a plea for someone to keep going, to keep breathing, even when everything feels lost.
As the song played, Seungmin, lost in the music like everyone else, happened to glance to his side. What he saw made his heart skip a beat. Lino, who had been swaying gently to the music, now had tears streaming down his cheeks. His eyes were wide, as if he was experiencing something he couldn't quite comprehend.
Jungkook noticed too. Concerned, he pulled Lino into a gentle hug. "Baby, are you crying again?" he whispered, his voice soft but clear enough for Seungmin to hear.
Lino blinked, as if snapping out of a trance, and brought his hand to his cheek. He seemed surprised to find it wet. "I don't know why I'm..." he mumbled, his voice trailing off, lost in confusion.
Jungkook kissed the top of Lino's head, tightening his embrace. "It's okay," he whispered soothingly, holding Lino close as the music continued to play around them.
Lino leaned into Jungkook, resting his head against his chest for the rest of the concert. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't shake the feeling that had taken hold of him. Watching Chan on stage, with his guitar, his voice full of love and pain, stirred something deep inside him. It felt so familiar, so achingly familiar, like something he had been longing for, something he had been missing for years.
But why? Why did seeing Chan, hearing his music, make him feel this way? Lino couldn't understand it, and the confusion gnawed at him, even as he clung to Jungkook, seeking comfort in his warmth.
