"ill do it." i answered. "i will make a deal with you."

"i will let you out of this cell, but in return, you will agree never to leave my side for the rest of your life and to never lie to me again." he smiled sadly.

"its a deal." i sobbed out.

he waved his hand and the bars disappeared. "come."

i stood to my feet, legs feeling weak as i followed him down the long cave into a large room that felt as if we were in a room of a palace.

a large bed in the middle of the room, a desk on one side, a door leading to a bathroom of the far wall. shelves lining the walls with books and a sitting area to another corner of the room.

"i was not lying when i brought you here." Oberon spoke softly once more, "i really did bring you here to meet my family. i had tried telling you the truth earlier but we were attacked." he looked at me, i still stood in the doorway. "sit."

i walked over to the sitting area and sat.

"i really do care about you Astraea." he knelt to look me in the eye. "but i care more about my revenge."

i smiled slightly at him. "too bad you will never get it then."

"what is that supposed to mean?" his green eyes looked like they were glowing as he marred his eyes.

"if you kill him, you will die as well." i started to laugh, not because of joy, but because of the irony. "i swear to you, your father will be safe from Oberon. those were your words. you also swore to keep me safe."

his fists clenched as he stood. "then i will die."

"you would rather die than just let my father live?" i stood, feeling shaky.

"i would rather die than let the reason my twin sister died in a pointless war live." he spat out.

"twin sister?" i thought for a moment. "i also have a twin."

"dont lie to me." he sounded mad.

"you know i cant lie to you anymore." i took a step closer, noticing he refused to look me in the eyes. "mother and father felt so hurt by your sisters death that they named a child after her, you younger sister."

"they did what?" he looked me in the eye, looking mad.

"now you will look at me." i sighed. "do you hate me so much that you cant even look at me?"

"hate you?" he looked hurt. "i made you swear to be my friend, i brought you here, because i think just the opposite of you. but i will die no matter what i choose to do because i had sworn to kill him, just as i swore not to. so i may as well prolong my life and spend what time i can with you until then rather then die right now."

"you want to spend time with me?" i raised an eyebrow. "even when i am your sworn enemy's eldest daughter?"

he grabbed my chin with one hand, forcing me to look at him. "i do not know what these feeling i am having for you are. i want to keep you close, but set you free at the same time. i want to kiss you and rip you limb from limb. my mind has two different feelings for you that oppose each other and i can not decide which to listen to."

i thought for a moment. if it meant a chance to save my fathers life, i needed to play on those feelings.

i leaned in and kissed him, my heard feeling like it would pound from my chest. he put his other hand on the back of my head, kissing me back.

we pulled away from each other, both panting. i wanted to continue, i wanted to keep going to bad. but he pulled away. "get some sleep, tomorrow will be a long day."

"Oberon," i spoke softly. "just talk to me."

"i cannot." he turned from my gaze, walking to his bed and laying in it. "you can sleep there tonight." he turned over, i knew that he would ignore me if i said anything.

if only there were a way to break a fairies law. my eyes went wide with my realization. i could do that, i could make my chosen power to do just that.

"please let this work." i whispered, thinking in my mind, i want to break fairy law, thats what i want my power to be. i pleaded that this would work.
