i walked into the cavern, Robin and Lunar were talking to each other.

"how do you know she will not just leave with her mother?" Lunar asked.

"i know she won't." Robin answered. "too much is in the balance for her."

"do what?" i asked.

they turned to face me.

"we need you to go up there alone and make them leave," Lunar told me.

Robin got close to me. "please." he spoke with a soft voice.

"i will." i nodded. "you were right, nothing can ruin the harvest."

he kissed the top of my head. "i can send Lunar with you, he knows that no harm is to come to you."

i nodded. "thank you." i looked to Lunar, "let me do all of that talking, then we can come back down."

"fine." he looked mad.

we walked to the exit cave, walking upward for a bit.

"you know, doing that with him will not make it easier for him to kill you." Lunar spoke as we walked.

"i know that." i answered him. "but i am selfish, i wanted to feel like a real woman at least once before dying."

"your right, you are selfish." he stated plainly. "you have the choice to save him from suffering and yet you choose to die instead."

"i have people i care for." i said as we reached the surface. "i cannot choose to save myself and hurt them."

"then you are the biggest fool of them all." he muttered as out eyes adjusted to the light.

"Astraea?" i heard my mothers voice.

i looked and saw her standing there, fully outfitted in her silver-white armor with a golden dragon breastplate.

i looked at Lunar. "you can trust me, just wait here."

he gave me a nod.

i ran to my mother, throwing myself in her arms.

"did they let you go?" she asked, looking concerned.

"no mother." i shook my head, holding my tears back. "but they are also not holding me against my will."

"what is that supposed to mean?" she asked.

"i need you to leave mother." i pulled away from her.

"what did they do to you?" she looked at my legs, i looked down and noticed blood dripping down them. she grabbed my hand and looked at the golden rose on the back of it. "what the hell is going on Astraea Darken? did they hurt you? did they force themselves on you?"

i pulled my hand back. "im sorry mother, but no, they did not do anything to me that i did not want."

"i know that look." she pulled my chin up to look me in the eyes. "you love one of them." she motioned to Lunar. "is it him?"

"mother." i spoke softly. "i think you already know who i fell in love with."

"he intends to use you to kill your father." she sounded mad, madder then i had ever seen her before. "and you are okay with this?"

"its the only way mother." i took a step back. "if he does not kill father, then the dark fairies will kill him, then he cannot protect our people from them."

"protect our people?" mother looked surprised. "Astraea, i can protect our people."

"you got captured easily." i snapped at her. "go away mother, you are making this harder."

"he is holding you captive and is using you." she stepped closer. "you need to come home."

"its either me or one of my brothers or sister." i stepped back again. "or even you. we can not lose the Great Dragon mother."

"let him get killed." she snapped. "he is an evil bastard anyway."

"hes not, mother." i raised my voice. "you dont know a thing about him."

"i know that he is using you to get to your father." she raised her own voice. "i know that he has brainwashed you with some evil fairy power."

"he didnt mother." i smiled a bit. "i have my chosen power, i can break fairy laws, and therefor their powers do not work on me."

"why would you choose a power like that?" she asked madly. "the only time you would need that is.... to break a deal. what did you do daughter?"

"i... i cant say." i looked away from mothers violet eyes.

"Astraea," mother sounded sad. "are you working for that no good bastard?"

"i love him mother." i snapped, she took a step back at that. "i am in love with him and i believe he is my soulmate, like you and father."

"Astraea...." mother sounded hurt. "the dark fairy king? he wants to kill your father by killing you."

i pulled my mother in for a hug and spoke softly. "i have a plan, i will not let him kill either of us, but i need you to trust me. i need you to return home and wait for my word."

her eyes went wide as i pulled away from her. "i trust you." she smiled at me. "when i was your age i was trapped in a similar situation. just think before you act."

she turned to her army. "fall back, we return home at once." she yelled then turned back to me. "stay safe my child." she turned and followed her troops away.

"i will mother, i whispered.

"you did well." Lunar approached. "come on, we need to go back down."

i nodded, following him back down.

we reached the cavern and Robin rushed to my site.

"she did what she had to." Lunar informed him. "they are gone."

"good." he nodded to Lunar. "you may leave us."

once he left i finally broke down into tears. Robin pulled me into his arms. "you will be okay." he stroked my hair, kissing the top of my head.

"i thought you could not lie." i looked up at him, tears still falling from my face.

"i cant." he kissed me once more as he picked me up then carried me down the hall towards his room, stopping at the cages. "i am sorry." he set me in one of the cages, locking the gated door behind him.

"Robin." i pleaded. "please dont do this."

"i am sorry, my star." he took a deep breath. "i cannot kill you." he walked away, leaving me all alone.
