Damian's POV

That idiot Todd forced all of us to watch the damn live stream last night. Thanks to that, I knew the location of the damn talk show and was able to go and help. I was lying on my bed in my room with Titus when a knock came at my door. It was Kent. I allowed him in, Titus greeting him as he sat on the edge of the bed. "Have you heard from Nettie?" he asked worriedly.

I shook my head, "Isn't she your girlfriend?" He frowned, "I tried calling but she didn't answer, but when I messaged, it was seen. I just..think she needs some time to herself." I sighed. I am not their counsellor. I rolled my eyes, "Did you come to vent or for advice?" He frowned even more into an exhausted yawn. "Both.."

I sat up and said, "Well, she did mention that she didn't want her powers to be made public as she wasn't ready for the backlash. And well..to make matters worse, the live stream was still recording the whole ordeal and so did some people present." He groaned, my head falling onto the bed. I let out an exasperated sigh, "Why don't you just go and see her if you're this worried?"

He turned his head and looked at Titus. "I don't know, I feel like I should give her her space you know.." I mentally groaned. As it stands now..Nettie has at least a month left before she returns to be an Outsider for another three months. He could wait. But I think he should at least make sure she's alive. Why couldn't he go to the other Kent (Conner)? He's married...

"Well, Kent, you do what you want. You know her more than I do." I finished, getting off my bed and leaving the room. After a few minutes he came out and sighed. "Thanks for the advice Damian, although you could've been nicer.." I glared, "Tch, I was reasonably tempered. What do you plan to do?" He frowned, "I'll..keep trying." And with that he left.

I scrolled through the Celeb-Gram the next day and my whole feed was plastered with Nettie and her in her costume. I don't think this is going away anytime soon. Just then my phone pinged with a follow request. I recognised the person in the profile. It was that girl.. Cesaire I think her name was. I opened the notification and reluctantly accepted. She then sent me a message.

Alya: Hey, Nette isn't feeling well and
she has a really high fever. Do you have
a contact for Ms. Zatanna?

Damian: I will send.

Alya: Aright. Thanks a mil. Oh and I feel as
though I should tell you that Nettie is
contemplating continuing with the Outsiders.

Damian: Okay then.

Alya: Lol. Is that all you can say? Just..pass
on the message. If she stays with the outsiders,
you'll see her after next month.

Damian: Very well.

I sent her the contact info and she went offline. I sighed. Why message me when she has a boyfriend? Is something wrong with those two..? But Kent would've mentioned it since he can't keep his mouth shut.. Interesting. Very, very interesting.

About a week later, Kent came back and said Nettie had responded, saying she was unwell. Zatanna went to see her and said she was struggling to maintain a constant flow of her magic while dealing with all the stress from that night. Or something like that. *sighs* I guess it was a good thing that she didn't die. However..her position in the Outsiders may pose a concern.

That being said, the extra publicity and spotlight may have the effect of being a hindrance on the team. She needs to reevaluate herself and make a decision. I sighed, which seemed to catch Grayson's attention. "Lil'D, something wrong?" I groaned, "Nothing..Just thinking." He smiled, "Thinking about Nettie and Jonny?" I glared at him as he chuckled.

"I'm sure they'll be fine. Trust in them a little more." I rolled my eyes, leaving to go back upstairs to my room. A week passed and patrols and villains were all the same. When I arrived back in the cave, I was shocked to see Nettie talking to Father. When they noticed me, they stopped. Nettie smiled as she made her way up to me.

"Hey. Just got back from Patrol?" she asked. She was way too energetic.. "Yeah. Why are you here?" I asked. She tapped her fingers and said, "I was asking Bruce for advice about my whole situation..and what I should do now that my identity has been revealed... And I think I've come to a decision." I watched her as I removed my mask. Great..is she leaving the team..?

She exhaled. "I made up my mind. I will continue to be a hero! I know that will somehow pose a problem for the others but..I had a conversation with my past selves. I believe this is my path I must take. And the kwamis as well as my friends and Zatanna agree." Tikki came and sat on her shoulder with a smile and I sighed, "Whatever you wish. Just don't get in my way."

She giggled, "Great! By the way..do you know where Jon might be? I called but there wasn't an answer. Was he on patrol with you?" I shook my head. She softly smiled, "Okay. Well thanks Damian-" "Wanna spar with me?" I suddenly asked. She raised a brow, "Why all of a sudden?" I shrugged, "Just making sure you aren't rusty." She smiled, "Okay. Longg-"

I removed my katana from my waist, along with my cape and grinned, "Not with weapons, with fists. Combat training." She looked at Longg who flew away over to the other kwamis next to Father. She chuckled, "I don't mind." She followed me onto the platform, Father watching from the computer. I took my stance and so did she. "Is magic allowed or no..?" she asked. "Nope, just strength." I replied.

She groaned as I made the first move. She dodged my first attack and moved back away from me. I continued attacking her while she just evaded my blows. I sent another punch, but using her hand, she quickly grabbed my wrists pulling me forward and throwing me over her shoulder and onto the floor in one swift move. "Believe it or not, I've been doing some training of my own."

That..caught me off guard for some reason. I got up and raised a brow, "What kind?" She grinned, "I've been lucky enough to train with the past Ladybugs that came before me. And now I get to try out my moves on you." I furrowed my brows. That means her magical abilities have increased as well. Hm, colour me intrigued... We started again and once again, I landed on the ground.

What is happening to me? What is she doing that I'm not catching onto? Her presence..it's different, more obscure. I can't read some of her movements. I chuckled, "Damn, not even Kent could do that. I say we go once more." She nodded. Again we exchanged blows and frankly it was exhilarating. Nettie raised her leg to kick me when she comically slipped and fell back.

"Ouch..." she groaned. I stared at her in disbelief. I heard giggling in a corner and found Todd and Brown watching us. Brown giggled, "Sorry Nettie for laughing." Nettie sat up with a wide smile, "Haha, it's fine. I would laugh too." I held out my hand to her and she took it. Her hand..it was small..yet warm inside mine and smooth to the touch..

"Thanks Damian. You got me all warmed up. Let's do this again, k." And with that she ran off and met up with Brown and they both went back up to the Mansion. Todd smirked as he approached me. I glared at him. "Aw, demon, did you have fun being tossed around by a girl?" I quickly picked up my katana, aiming the blade at him. "Don't test me Todd."
