-Naruto POV-
We had just reached the upper coast of the land of Iron and were taking a rest on the beach before going to find the Susuka. I was lying down, working on my tan, when a shadow casted over me.

I opened my eyes to find Itachi standing over me. "Don't you think you're relaxing a little too much?" He asked.

I whistled and Uchiwa landed next to me. "This is Uchiwa. He's my round the clock security system, take a look at his right eye." I said.

He looked over at Uchiwa as I closed my eyes again. I was looking at him and me from Uchiwa's eye. "Damn I'm hot..." I said.

His eyes were wide. "You've been on high alert this whole time?" He asked.

I opened my eyes again as Uchiwa shot back into the air. "Maybe not high alert, but yes. I've been on alert." I said.

He furrowed his brow. "Why? Why not have us on security?" He asked.

"Smarter, not harder. Uchiwa has much better eye sight and a better view. He has infrared vision, and his jutsu could match and surpass that of any summoning animal. Itachi, we've been moving non stop for the past week without sleep. I can do that no problem, I don't need sleep and I've reach a level of mental calmness only known by sages." I explained as I went back to my areal scanning and tanning.

"However, I need to think about you, Kakashi, and Mabui. You're grappling with the Sasuki thing right now and you're trying to figure out how to tell mom you're moving in with Izumi. Kakashi, though he isn't showing it, is also dealing with the Sasuki thing. Mabui's been taking shit for the past five years, she'll never say it, but she was going crazy back in the village. We'll be here till dark anyway, so take this time to relax and figure some shit out." I explained.

"So you're over it then? All's just forgiven and forgotten?" He asked.

I sighed. "I've forgiven Sasuki and I'm working on the whole Jiji thing..." I opened my eyes and gave him a hard stare. "But I'll never forget." I said as I unsealed Fuu. He wasn't showing it, but he was a little taken aback.

I sat up and looked down at her. "Did I ever tell you about this sword Itachi? I never mentioned in my journal." I said.

He shook his head. "No." He said.

I looked down at it. "I named her Fuu. I forged this sword with the Nanabi's chakra, Fuu's chakra, so that she could keep living on with me. Fuu and I, we weren't best friends, but we shared a bond. We knew each other's pain, her's was worse than mine. She was sold by her comrades to a fighting ring in the land of rivers. I can't imagine was she endured in that village." I said as I gripped the sword tightly.

I looked up at him. "But through it all and after, she kept love for this world. She never lost the light in her eyes, she was always excited about tomorrow. She wanted to enjoy her new life, her new freedom, she was so ready. She put the past behind her and was moving forward, making friends, trying new things. She had this air about her, she was truly excited for life Itachi. I've only met one other person like that, then her life was forcibly snuffed." I said before sealing Fuu.

His eyes softened as I continued. "My greatest sadness is that such a bright shining light, such a wonderful was taken so quick. She was given a taste of happiness, then killed. I haven't even had the heart to summon and talk to her. I will never forget what they did. I don't even know who 'they' are. Is it Sasuki? Is it Jiji? Is it Orochimaru? Or is it some fucking asshole of a high power? I'll learn to forgive Itachi, but I will never forget, not a goddamn thing." I said.

I cleared my throat. "Sorry, that turned into a rant at some point." I said.

He sat next to me. "You need to summon her Naruto. If you don't, it'll just keep eating away at you." He said.
