-Naruto POV-
We had just reached the village and I was pretty annoyed with how slow they were moving. The only reason I was holding back my annoyance was because this was their first time out of the village, let alone the country. We had put on cloaks to conceal ourselves and taken off our headbands. I made Hinata wear a special pair of glasses that made her eyes look like regular brown eyes. I had my sword sealed away too. Kiba had Akamaru on a leash like a normal person.
I spoke up. "Hinata, Kiba, don't tell anyone where we're from or what we are." I said.
Kurenai nodded. "If they get curious, tell them we're procurers of rare animals." She said.
"I'll be off doing my own recon. Meet back here in three hours." I said and they all nodded.
I walked off with my hands in my pockets. I ducked into an alley and changed quickly. I had my hair up in a bun and I'd used a henge to age myself up and cover my whisker marks. I was wearing an unmarked long sleeve orange shirt with a high collar, blue pants, regular civilian sandals, and backpack. I had almost all my gear sealed into a which I left with a lemur.
As I walked I looked for places people flocked too. There was the market, but there wasn't a lot of room for conversation there. I found a local bar where the village adults gathered.
I went inside and saw that the place was packed. I went to the bar and ordered a drink. As I was waiting, I heard a man talking. "I'm telling you, this thing moved like lightning and it was massive!" He said loudly, causing his friends to laugh.
I raised an eyebrow at that right as the bartender set my drink down. "That old folktale catch your fancy? Stories of the quick wolves have been around for years." He said.
I looked at him. "You ever seen it yourself?" I asked.
He laughed and shook his head. "No, no. The only people who claim to see them are hunters who go too deep into the woods." He said.
I nodded, acting intrigued. "You know, I've always liked folktales, I used to do everything I wasn't supposed to in order to see monsters and what not. Who should I talk to about giving the wolf hunt a shot?" I asked.
He chuckled and shook his head. "An odd one, eh? Well, old Jaku over there in the corner is kind of a fanatic for folklore." He said.
I nodded and looked to the corner only to see a very old man in a kimono, he looked like he could crumble to dust at any second. "Why don't you give me his favorite menu item and I'll head over." I said.
He nodded. "Yes sir." He said.
A few minutes later I made my way over. "Something tells me it isn't personal interest that drew your attention to the quick wolves." He said before I could speak.
I activated my eyes, his chakra told me he was high Chunin level. "And what 'something' is that?" I asked.
I noticed two very faded Inuzuka markings on his cheeks. "Because I'm the one who sent Tsume the letter. I'm Jaku Inuzuka, connoisseur of wild Canines. Come now boy and drop the henge." He said as he stood up effortlessly.
I followed him back to his hut just outside the village, dropping the henge on the way. We went inside his shed only to find hundreds of drawings and maps along with a bunch of journals. "This is all my research, take it all. Just- just let me see one when you find it." He said.
I patted his shoulder. "I'll make sure you do." I said.
I made some clones and we began combing through the information. I laid out a large map in the middle of the shed and began planting sightings in order, looking for a pattern.
