Dead Eyes (Naruto)

Part 7: C-rank Mission

-Naruto POV-
It had been a month and all my team had been doing was D-ranks. Outside of D-ranks though, we trained for combat. I had finished Suisha's katana too. It was made from gold mixed with chakra steel, but it appeared at a completely gold sword. I had made the handle wrap from silver wire. Because of its precious metals, it was more resistant to corrosion. I had decided to name the blade 'Kicho Tenpi' meaning precious sunlight because of its precious metals and golden color.

I had continued my training with Pop at night and I had mastered the wind chakra nature. I was still figuring out how to use it for, but I knew it would come in handy. I had also been training my eyes and mind to keep up with my speed, I was getting pretty close. I'd started sparring with Suisha a lot, her style was very different from mine.

Sasuki had been experimenting with different ways of inflicting genjutsu. Her favorite was lacing sound with chakra, she'd managed to tie different genjutsu to different sounds. Her favorite was clicking her tongue, it caused the target to feel a deep sense anxiety. Dad had also been teaching her more first jutsu.

I had been working with Suisha to create more uses for her corrosive chakra. I developed a seal tag that she could store her chakra in and attach to targets. Her sword play had been improving a lot too, she could now hold her own for thirty seconds against me. She did have a stronger arsenal of jutsu though.

We were waiting on Kakashi once again. I was doing weighted pull ups on a tree branch. Sasuki was reading a book. Suisha was practicing her katas. Soon Kakashi entered the training ground.

He clapped his hands to get our attention and we gathered around him. "Ok team, seeing as you haven't really been challenged since Tora, I've decided that we're going to take on a C-rank mission." He said with his signature eye smile.

I lit up. "Finally! I already have a scroll packed and everything!" I said.

He chuckled at my response. "I'm glad you're excited, but-" His demeanor changed completely. "Don't forget that you can still die on a C-rank." He said coldly.

We all nodded in response and Sasuki spoke. "We know Sensei, Naruto's just excited to leave the village for a while." She said.

He nodded. "Good. Let's go." He said.

We nodded and took off. We arrived at the Hokage tower and went in. When we entered the room, it was silent.

Kakashi spoke. "Naruto, I want you to make the request this time. I want you to experience a leadership position. Remember, do it in an appropriate manner." He said as he pushed me forward.

I nodded and went stone faced. "Jiji-sama, we would like to request a C-rank mission with the permission of our Jonin Sensei!" I said stoically.

Kakashi hand chopped my head. "Hokage-sama." He said.

I nodded. "Sorry." I said before stepping back.

Jiji glanced at Kakashi who nodded. "Ok then, I have the perfect mission for you. Get me Tazuna." He said and a ninja left the room.

"Your mission will be to escort a bridge builder back to his home, a village in the land of waves. You will stay and protect him from bandits until the bridge is finished. You will be working in conjunction with a genin team from Kirigakure and their Jonin Sensei. I would like you to train with this other team, I believe you would all find it very beneficial." He said.

We all nodded. An old man stumbled in. "This is who you got me? A pompous looking blonde girl, an unkempt blonde, and a brunette dressed like-"

I cut him off with my kunai to his throat. "You got an issue with how my sister dresses?" I asked coldly.
