40.The breakdown

Author's Pov:-

A expression passed through his eyes like a flash but he was fast enough to hide his expression quickly.It was Hurt.

His face hung low as he heard her.
His red eyes and tiredness on His face didn't went unnoticed by her,which somehow hurted her but she didn't let her emotions overpower on herself .

"I...I'm sorry!!"She heard him whispering.
His voice was hoarse due to crying maybe?

"Sorry?Sorry for what?lying to me?Well that you should be definitely!!"She said  curtly

"I..I really didn't mean to h..hurt you.I know,I shouldn't have lied.I know i have broken your trust but...!!"He stopped in middle  not able to form any sentence.

He couldn't just tell her the reason, that will create more misunderstanding between her friends and her which he definitely don't want because he know how much she love them.
He silently stood their while clenching  his eyes shut feeling helpless for the first time in life.

Someone said it right that Love can turn the strongest person into the weakest.

She looked up at him and chuckled mockingly.

"Broken my trust?Well what can I expect from a person who came into my life barely 4 to 5 months ago when my childhood friends didn't find it necessary to tell me something this important!!"She said with a sad smile.

Avyansh looked at her lifting his lashes.
He could sense her sadness behind her words.His heart was clenching seeing her sad smile, he wanted to hug her and confront her but he just couldn't do that.

"When my best friends whom I called  my soul sisters don't want to tell me their life's matter!!" She said  shrugging  her shoulders trying  to look unaffected but  avyansh could see her hurt.
She is like a open book for him  no matter how much she tries to hide her emotions.

"But...still somewhere in my heart I wanted you to tell me the truth!!" She whispered lowly thinking that he hadn't  heard her but he did.

He bit his quivering lips and closed his eyes and looked down.

This was the first time in his life he had lowed  his head in front of someone.

"I definitely don't deserve love like she said. I broke my wife's trust without even earning it properly. She's hurt because of me. She cried because of me. She was expecting me to tell her everything but I didn't I couldn't!!" He was thinking when Ruhika cleared her throat breaking his trace...

"Well for now will you please leave me alone?"She asked sarcastically

Avyansh blinked his eyes at her tone and nodded ignoring his pain and left her not before saying "Please call me if you  need something,I'm sorry once again!!" and placing a small kiss on her forehead.

A sob left her lips as soon she heard voice of closing of door.

"I know I shouldn't have behaved like this avyaan but I'm helpless I know there is some reason that's why you lied to me and I need to know it but you are still hiding it.So hitting your  nerve was necessary.I am really sorry!!"She whispered with closed eyes as some tears slided down her cheek.

"Sorry for hurting you but i have to do this!!"She whispered wiping her tears.

Whereas...

Avyansh stood om the other side leaning on the door...

"Sorry love but I can't tell you the reason,you will blame yourself which is not true!!"He whispered and sat on the couch nearby.
