B. Talk to him about today.
It was late, sure but she couldn't just leave him alone like this. So, she got up off the couch.
It wasn't that hard to find Oreo, pacing back and forth with his footsteps, honestly she's more surprised that he didn't wake everyone else up than anything. Stupid kitty… “Oreo, are you…?”
“Abi…” His face had a weird mixture of both concern and stress on it. Had he really spent all night worrying?
All for someone like her…?
“I believe this is yours…” He hands her a small card, flipped over for whatever reason.
“Oh, thank you…” Her student id? She must've dropped it while she was running back in the school- Wait. This wasn't just her student id. This was her Hachiko student id.
Her old school.
That's why he was acting like this.
“Look, I understand if you don't want to tell me but…” Oreo didn't want to force her to do anything, people keep secrets for a reason, he already knew how Abi was. It just wouldn't leave his mind. “Just how many secrets are you keeping from me?”
Abi didn't even bother to look him in the eye. Now, that was something she couldn't answer. “I- I'm sorry…”
Even so, Oreo looked at her with a slight smile. “It's alright.” They were friends, sure. But he could let this one slide.
“Can we maybe talk about this tomorrow? You know, when we're all nice and rested.” Sleep is good for your soul after all!
“Sure.”
With one last “bye” they both headed on back to bed.
Abis sleep was far from dreamless. Visions, voices, all of what not just her but someone close to her experienced too. She could hear them, she could feel them, she could sense them.
“Abi…” The familiar soul says, only to turn around. “You monster.”
“Freak.” An unknown one claims.
“You, stay far away from me!” A magicless cat warns.
“Dangy mutts, that's what you all are.” His twin states.
“What even are you…?”
All of their words stir in her little head.
Until at last it comes into view, the paws of a young pup stained with blood. The bright red scissors. The two bodies. She recognized them. No…
NOOOOO-!
She wakes up in a jolt. It was… “Just a dream, it was just a dream…” A “dream.”
Why…?
Abi dug through her pockets, pulling out the old student id once more. Despite how faded it was, the pink and teal scribbles on it were still visible.
Dog. She wanted to cry. And she was crying.
After all, she knew what she did.
She held the card close to her. “I miss you.”
Just what was she hiding? A lot, a lot more than anyone could ever think.
