A. I'll go with Rex. Oreo, you'll go with Molly.

The vanilla scottish fold cat seemed fine with her decision for the most part. "Oh, alright."

Molly didn't interject either, despite being paired with you know, Oreo. Aside from maybe a comment or two.

"Just stay behind me!"

"Yeah, yeah." If anything it'd probably be him who should stay behind her.

And with that, the two were off, not before waving goodbye to each other and one quick: "Text us when you get back!" From Oreo of course.

Honestly, Abi wasn't sure if Rex even needed her here. He was more toned than anything sure, but he was pretty strong on his own, he could probably break someone's bones if he tried.

Nethertheless, Abi and Rex made it through Kurokomo relatively scot free, they both knew their way around the town so it wasn't hard to the avoid bumping Into zombies, and if they did... Rex made quick work of them.

Rex knew his dad too, given yesterday and the situation right now he was likely still at "work." And he was just proven right with the relatively big horde outside the bluel "Kurokomo Police Station", when they came across it.

"So what's the plan?" Abi asked. They couldn't just stay here and hide behind a corner, yet they couldn't just barge in either...

Rex probably had something in mind actually... "Do you have anything on you?"

Abi dug through her jean pockets for a moment. "A half eaten chocolate bar and an unopened can of soda."

Rex pointed at the can, to which Abi handed him it.

Added with one quick shake, plus a good throw he managed to distract the horde just with that, leaving room for them to dash inside.

Inside the police station was relatively small, there weren't any bodies aside from one, there was blood though. Someone was probably holding this as a line defense while the others escaped in a flurry, which led them to the barricaded backdoor.

Someone, or rather something appeared to be pushing against it, as if trying to get out. It probably didn't help that they kept banging on it.

Cautiously, the two approached the door, completely ready to hold their ground if need be.

Just for the chairs and tables that blocked to fall right down as it swung open with a BAM!

In front of them was an older german shepherd draped in a blue uniform, he pointed his six shooter at them...

Wait what-?! Hold on, this isn't how this was supposed to go! "Wait, dad!" It's him-!

Only for a bullet to whizz right in-between, right into the head of a zombie. Phew... It took him a while to get out of there... Wait a minute... "Son...?"

Oh my dog. "Dad...!" They probably would've had a more tearful reunion, if not for what just happened.

Well this definitely wasn't what Abi expected, not even just the almost getting shot in the head part.

Same goes for Rex's dad as he turned to her. Now what's this? "You didn't tell me you brought a lady friend with you!"

The two students flushed a bright pink, even as Abi tried to speak to herself. "I'm not...!"

"DAD! SHE'S JUST A FRIEND!"Just how many times did Rex have to explain this?! HE couldn't even see it with Abi. Now, Molly? She made sense at the very least!

His dad lightly patted him on the back. "I'm just kidding!" No need to get worked up over a simple joke, ey?

Still that does beg the question though.... "Just what is your name, missy?"

"Abi. Abi Holdens, sir."

Abi, huh? "That's a mighty good name! I'm Kent, Kent Alast" The officer extends a paw towards Abi, offering to shake it.

She "puts er there" as Kent would say with that accent, reluctantly so.

Now that they had extra help in the form of an actual adult, it wasn't too hard for them to leave the station. Any undead get in their way? BAM! Kent could take care of them with one pop, just like that!

Rex thought he was an idiot for being so cheeky even in a situation like this. It's a waste of bullets too...

Whilst Abi honestly thought he was kinda cool....? In a weird way...? If that was the right way to put it even. Like, he seemed pretty skilled to pull off stuff like that. Maybe she should get herself....

Nah. She's better with blades anyways. Too bad she's stuck with this dumb hockey stick.

Their trip back left them with time for elaboration.

"And that's how I managed to protect everyone in the station!" Kent said with a laugh.

"That's a dumb story." Like Rex would believe that. He knew his dad. Dumb as bricks. In any case... "Whilst we managed to escape from school..."

"Oh yeah?" Kent could say the same thing to him if anything, he was just nicer. "Sounds like you've got your paws full, huh?"

Rex let out a heavy sigh. "Yeah... We managed to hold the fort at Abis house for now though."

Luckily he was here to help!

See? Father son bonding, even in the eyes of an outsider like Abi, she could tell it was that much. Emphasis on the too much. As in it was too much. She didn't mean anything but, it just kinda... She just-

"Wait." Abi put an arm in front of Rex and Kent, stopping them dead in their tracks much to their confusion. She could sense something. Something nearby.

She glanced at the slightest sound. There it was again.

Just when... Oh dog.

C. Warn Rex to get out the way!

D. Jump in the way herself!
