Well, now that's everything done it's time to put plan: "Get up and go!" As Oreo called it, into action.
First things, first things first, they were able to pass through the checkpoint relatively easy of course. Normally they'd have to present everything on top of the paperwork she did. Yuck.
Kent went off to the conductor's car to get the train "Ready, in two shakes of a dog's tail!" As he said.
Good. Still, Abi couldn't shake this odd feeling. On top of the already preexisting lack of corpses and blood, it was eerily quiet. Not that, that's a bad thing. It already took her a while to get used to blood and gore after so long.
She just expected something more.
But... Speak of the devil...
Because as soon as she thought that, two certain someone's decided to drop down. Riley and Cosmo. Talk about dramatic entrances.
With an arm in the air, Cosmo calls out towards the undead as if commanding them. "Don't let a single one of them escape." And his lead they follow.
This was a trap, just like they planned.
Molly was the first one to step forward, and to make a more drastic decision, handing Floof over to Oreo. "Hold her." As she dragged her baseball bat on the ground with nigh-murderous intent. "I've been looking for you..."
Which leaves her to deal with Riley. Great. Abi dashed at Riley, scissors in paw.
Riley could retaliate with a few magical blasts from that tome of hers. Even as the two jumped from their surroundings, Abi managed to corner her on top of the train itself. How-?! How did she do that, it's like she's done this befor-? "You..."
That's when Rex decided to jump in, begrudgingly so as he left Oreo behind. He just hoped Cosmo- Or Molly wouldn't hurt each other too badly.
Riley's gaze flickered between her previous anxiety and a glare as she looked at them both but mainly at Abi. She wanted to apologize- For what she had done before, and now! But, no... "You're the one..."
Rex looked to Abi, confused. "What is she talking about?"
"Nothing." It was a look Abi had seen many times before, she didn't need a reminder. But personally...! She sprinted at Riley again. "I wouldn't believe everything he tells you."
Oh cats-! Riley fincked through the spells in her tome. Ah-ha! Quickly casting a barrier of petals!
Unluckily for her, it was too late because as soon she did Abi dashed right under her, cutting both an arm and her knees. Not enough to damage them permanently, but enough to stagger. "Now!"
That, along with a heavy jab and a uppercut from Rex were enough to mark her as down for the count.
"Hey, wait!" Oh come on! Rex just had to leave him now too? It was already hard enough for Oreo to keep himself AND a literal child in his arms safe from the undead!
Good thing they were hiding though, now let's see what's going on here...
Molly swung her bat at Cosmo. "Oh you, whore!" Then again, and again... All of her attacks rigidiously missed.
That didn't stop her from trying though! She swore she was gonna bash this bastard's head in if it was the last thing she did! "You took him from me!"
Oh. "So that's what this is about..." Cosmo blocked the ones that didn't with his daggers, not that he really needed to, with how brutish she was. If anything, this was the most laughable thing he'd seen so far. "Do you even look at yourself?"
"Why you-!" Was he suggesting that this was HER fault?!? Oh she was playing around. SHE WAS GONNA-
But just as Molly got ready for an overhead swing, Cosmo parried the attack, knocking her down with a quick kick as she whispered something ineligible. "Damn, you..."
Well yes, he was suggesting that. Cosmo would've put an end to her there. "If anything-"
If not for Kent's voice calling out. "Alright guys, it's ready!"
Oreo jumped out of hiding, Floof in tow as he grabbed Molly's paw, with a horde of zombies and Cosmo chasing him no less. "HURRY UP!"
Abi and Rex followed after, barely getting themselves as the undeads arms flailed to get them, all just in the nick of time.
Now, "FULL THROTTLE!" Kent cracked the lever in the train's driver's car.
"Those damned!" Cosmo would've chased after them, but before he knew it they were gone. Dammit...
Riley picked herself off the ground in a limp. Oh no... This wasn't good... She... "I'm so dead..."
Cosmo only groaned in response. "No kidding."
Abi sat down to catch her breath, she needed a break especially after all that fighting....
"So...." Kent words slipped, he had moved from the drivers car, to the one everyone else was in while he left the train running. Honestly, he was surprised he was so good at this. Now he just needed a destination and they'd be on their way! "Where we going?"
"How about Kemono Woods?" Rex suggested.
Molly looked at him with the most half-assed look ever. "Are you dumb? Kemono Woods is full of cats, and look at us." She pointed to everyone else. "There's no way we could go there."
Unfortunately for Rex, as Oreo said himself. "She's right, there's no stops there anyway." Well, as far as he knew. "Kemono Town sounds good instead."
"Kemono Town it is." With that, Kent left.
Oh boy... Kemono Town. Isn't that just great?
Abi looked out of a window, at the smoldering flames of Kurokomo behind them.
And it hadn't even been a week.
Well, whatever comes next, she'd have to deal with herself.
Purrfect Ending(?)
Everyone survived!
But this isn't the end for you, is it? After all, apologies don't make themselves.
