Sophie's POV:

The morning sun filtered through the curtains, signaling the start of a new day. The birds chirped their songs, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. It seemed like it was going to be a wonderful day, a fresh start after the ordeal of yesterday. Everything was calm and serene, and I thought it would be just another regular Saturday. Little did I know how wrong I was.

As I opened my eyes, I felt an unusual sense of tiredness and weakness. I dismissed it as fatigue at first. However, when I sat up, a wave of dizziness hit me, causing the room to spin. I waited for the sensation to subside before cautiously sliding my legs off the bed, feeling the soft rug beneath my feet.

Slowly standing up, I began to get myself partially ready for the day. Knowing that I wasn't going to be doing much, I settled for something simple. Sitting down at my vanity, I started to brush out my bird's nest of hair. Seriously, I always have the worst bed hair. Once I finished, I dressed in simple, comfy clothes: an ice blue T-shirt and black soccer shorts.

As soon as I opened my door to head down to breakfast, the fresh smells of Edaline's cooking wafted through the air. Walking down the stairs, I started to feel a little dizzy. I stopped and gripped the railing, waiting for the dizziness to pass. When it finally subsided, I continued down and entered the kitchen, eager for some delicious breakfast.

My stomach growled at the sight of the food. "Hungry, are we?" Edaline joked. "It would seem that way," I chuckled, sitting down. As I reached for a piece of toast, a sudden wave of nausea hit me. I tried to ignore it, but the room started to spin. My vision blurred, and a cold sweat broke out on my forehead.

"Are you okay, Sophie, you look pale?" Edaline's voice sounded distant, almost like it was coming from underwater. I tried to respond, but my mouth felt dry, and my words wouldn't come out. Keefe, who had just walked into the kitchen, noticed immediately. "Sophie, what's wrong?" His voice was filled with concern as he rushed to my side.

"I... I don't feel so good," I managed to whisper before everything went black. When I came to, I was lying on the couch in the living room, a cool cloth on my forehead. Edaline and Keefe were hovering nearby, their faces etched with worry.

"Thank goodness you're awake," Edaline said, her voice trembling slightly. "You gave us quite a scare."

"What happened?" I asked, my voice weak.

"You fainted," Keefe replied, his eyes never leaving mine. "We think it might be related to your condition. We need to get you to Elwin for a check-up."

I nodded, feeling too weak to argue. The dizziness had passed, but I still felt a lingering sense of unease. Keefe helped me to my feet, and we made our way to the car. As we traveled to Elwin's office, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. What if my condition was getting worse? I tried to push the thoughts away, focusing instead on Keefe's reassuring presence beside me.

When we arrived, Elwin was already waiting for us. He took one look at me and ushered us inside. "Let's see what's going on," he said, his tone professional but kind.

After a thorough examination, Elwin sighed and looked at me with a mixture of sympathy and determination. "Sophie, it looks like your condition is progressing for the worse. We'll need to figure out a different plan for your treatment and monitor you more closely."

I nodded, trying to stay strong. "Okay. What do I need to do?"

Elwin gave me a reassuring smile. "We'll take it one step at a time. For now, rest and let us take care of you."
