*SONG: "Moments to Memories" Adeline Hill
Sophie's POV:
The room is quiet, with only the soft hum of machines and occasional rustle of paper breaking the silence. I'm propped up on pillows, trying to ignore the dull ache in my body. The sunlight streaming in through the window brings a sense of warmth and comfort that I've been missing during these long days.
Keefe is sitting beside me, his usual mischievous grin absent. Instead, his expression is thoughtful and contemplative. It's unusual to see him so quiet. I wonder what's on his mind, but I don't ask. Perhaps I'm too lost in my own thoughts to find the right words.
I hold the locket in my hand, feeling it's cool metal against my skin. It was his gift to me. It may be simple, but it now holds so much meaning. A small smile forms on my lips as I meet Keefe's gaze. There's a newfound understanding between us, a silent connection that speaks volumes about how much we've grown through it all.
In this moment, everything seems to fall into place, and a sense of peace washes over me.
Keefe's laughter interrupts the silence, drawing me back from my thoughts. "I still remember the first time we met," he says, a mischievous grin on his face. "You were all serious and proper, trying to be the perfect little hero. You looked at me like I had two heads."
I chuckle softly, remembering the moment. I had been so focused on being flawless, so intent on proving myself. And then there was Keefe, cracking jokes and causing chaos, seeming more interested in teasing me than anything else. "I didn't know what to make of you at first," I confess. "Your humor, your daring... you were nothing like what I thought a 'proper hero' should be."
Keefe smirks, clearly pleased with himself. "I knew you weren't going to be like the others, Foster. You had this spark in you. I wasn't wrong, was I?"
I smile as I reminisce. "No, you were not wrong. But I have to admit, initially, I didn't quite understand you. Your teasing used to drive me crazy."
"Well, that was my way of showing affection," he says, playfully nudging me. "I thought you needed to loosen up a bit."
I roll my eyes but can't help but let out a soft laugh. He's right. Gradually, I had come to understand that beneath all the teasing, Keefe had a knack for making me feel secure—showing me that I didn't always have to be so serious.

"Remember the time we had to break into that secure facility?" Keefe continues, a gleam in his eyes. "You were so determined to get that information, but you were terrified. And yet, when the alarm went off, you were the one who pulled us out of there without a second thought."
I feel my cheeks flush at the memory. "I was terrified, but I couldn't let us get caught," I say, more to myself than him. "It was like... I had to do something. It didn't matter how scared I was."
Keefe's expression softens, and he leans back slightly, clearly remembering it too. "And that was when I realized just how much you'd grown. You were brave, Sophie. You always were. You just didn't know it yet."
