Percy's POV
"Hey, where's the-"
The kid walked off, his headphones blaring music so loud I could clearly hear every word. "Okay then," I muttered to myself.
This place was so big. And everyone here seemed wrapped in their own little lives. I walked around, trying to find someone else to ask. Well, other than the gaggle of girls that were practically burning holes into the side of my head. Nope. I turned around, and immediately bumped into someone and sent her sprawling to the floor.
"Sorr-" I stopped, surprised, when I realized it was none other than Annabeth, who was now brushing the dirt off her pants. "I'm really sorry," I said, picking up her books and handing them to her, wondering what to say. My brain had stopped functioning properly at her presence.
"Um.. oh yeah, I wanted to ask, where's the pool?" I questioned, feeling nervous by the second. Why am I feeling like this?
She hesitated for a moment, almost as though she didn't want to be seen with me. Just when I was about to say that it was fine, and I'd find it myself, she responded. "Um, follow m-"
She stopped, staring at something behind us. Her eyes widened in fear, and without a moment of hesitation she grabbed my hand and started to run. What the-
he looked beautiful when she ran like that- her hair flying in the non existent wind, gold locks tangling. Not the time, Percy!
"Woah, hang on!" I intervened, attempting to stop her, but she was stronger than I thought. "Why are you running? We could just wal-"
"Just follow me!" she snapped. We ran until we reached the door marked Janitor's Closet. She opened the door and pulled me in, closing the door behind her.

Annabeth's POV
Shit, why is it so hard to respond to him? "Um, follow me-"
I happened to glance over his shoulder, and paled. Standing behind him was none other than Luke.
Without a second thought, I grabbed Percy's hand and sprinted, ignoring his questions. The only thing I was focused on currently was not dying. If Luke had seen me with Percy, I was dead.
I pulled us both into the janitor's closet and quickly shut the door. God, please let Luke think we were just a crazy couple.
Turning around, I suddenly realized that my face was barely centimeters away from Percy's. Gosh, why was he so handsome?
He came closer, and I could feel his hot breath fanning my face...
I blinked and quickly stepped away. He did the same, as though suddenly realizing what was going on. Phew.
With a smile, he stuck out his hand. "I'm Percy."
Sure, let's act all normal now.
"I know," I mumbled. He blinked, and I quickly said, "Um, I mean... that's a nice name." I awkwardly shook his hand. "I'm Annabeth."
"That's a really nice name too. Annabeth. Reminds me of my aunt's name, a bit, but it's more like Anna-" He stopped, embarrassed, but I found it pretty cute.
"Um..." an awkward silence fell in between us. I could tell he had questions, but I wasn't in the mood to answer any. "I, um have to go now. See you?" I trailed off uncertainly.
He glanced at my nervous state and smirked, making me blush instantly. "Yeah, see you around, Annabeth." He stepped out of the closet, leaving me in a daze. After making sure the coast was clear, I left too.
I felt elated as I walked into the hallway. Why was I feeling like this? My steps were bouncy and light, and as I passed someone in the hallway, I smiled- actually smiled- or, at least, I attempted to. It came out kind of awkward, since my muscles weren't used to that movement, but she looked shocked nevertheless as I went away.
I stepped into class, feeling happier than I had in a long time. It must've shown on my face, because the teacher had a shocked expression as she stared at me. "Um... Annabeth, you look..." she caught herself. "I mean, why don't you go sit down?"
Ignoring the stares of people around me, I settled into my spot at the back, and a hand grabbed my wrist.
My smile instantly dropped.
"What's wrong?" Luke said, glaring at me suspiciously.
Wrong? Can I not smile?
"Um... extra credit for a biology assignment," I lied. Luke clapped sarcastically, but my thoughts filled my mind, blocking him from view.
All I could think about were those green eyes.
