The boardroom was filled with tension as the members of Hotel El Mirador gathered around the table.
Mr. Hernandez was the first to speak, "Brian, the situation is dire. La situación está empeorando. We need to act now before it gets worse."
Mrs. Maria Lopez nodded, glancing at the financial reports. "Los números no mienten, Brian. Our profits are plummeting, and if we don’t do something, el futuro del hotel está en peligro."
Brian sighed heavily, feeling the weight of their words. "I understand, pero mi mente ha estado en otro lugar, with Patricia's situation… it’s been hard to focus."
Alejandro Ruiz leaned in, his voice steady but urgent. "Entendemos tu preocupación, pero the hotel is suffering, Brian. We can’t afford to lose more guests."
Sofia Martinez added, "Los huéspedes no están contentos. If we don’t address their concerns, the damage to our reputation could be irreversible."
Brian nodded, trying to shake off the stress. "You're right. I’ll have to delegate more. Liovanni Crown will take over day-to-day operations for now."
Mr. Hernandez looked at Brian seriously. "Espero que sepas lo que estás haciendo, Brian. This is a critical time for us."
The discussion continued, each member voicing their concerns and strategies. Brian knew they were right; he couldn’t let the hotel fail, even as his mind was elsewhere.
As the board members filed out of the room, Brian caught up with Liovanni Crown.
"Liovanni," Brian began, his voice weary, "I’m going to need you to take the lead here. La situación de Patricia… it’s taking up all my time."
Liovanni nodded, understanding Brian’s predicament. "Don’t worry, Brian. I’ve got this. Enfócate en Patricia. I’ll make sure everything here runs smoothly."
"Gracias, Liovanni. I’m counting on you to keep things together. The board is concerned, and I can’t afford to lose their confidence."
"Lo entiendo, Brian. Leave it to me. We’ll get through this."
Brian patted Liovanni’s shoulder in gratitude before turning to leave, hoping he was making the right decision.
As Brian walked away, a cunning smile spread across Liovanni’s face. "Este es el momento perfecto," he muttered under his breath. With Brian distracted, he could finally start implementing his own plans. The power shift he had been waiting for was now within his grasp.
Liovanni had always felt the weight of his insecurities whenever he was around Brian. He was just a poor guy back then, barely making ends meet, until one day, Patricia approached him with a proposal. "Brian, he needs help. Can we find a place for him in the company?" she had asked, her eyes full of compassion.
Brian was hesitant, his expression betraying his unease. Hindi niya gusto si Liovanni, and it was clear from the start. But dahil sa kagustuhan ni Patricia, Brian relented, allowing Liovanni to enter the company. Liovanni noticed Brian's reluctance, but he kept his head down, grateful for the opportunity.
As time passed, Liovanni became one of Brian's employees, working hard and trying to prove his worth. But as he worked closer with Patricia, his feelings for her began to grow. Minsan, he would catch himself staring at her, wondering what it would be like to be in Brian's shoes.
Liovanni's insecurities grew stronger with each passing day. Alam niyang hindi siya magiging katulad ni Brian—powerful, respected, and loved by Patricia. But he knew he had to find a way to get closer to her. The only way he saw fit was to become trustworthy, to earn her admiration and maybe, just maybe, her affection.
