The days went on and students went back to their own home, people knew what would happen next.The conference at wen sect, they remembered nothing much about it except for the archery competition. They arrived at Wen sect with a little reassurance that nothing is going to happen at this time.As for the attack on the lan clan there is no way they could stop it.
The sun was shining brightly as if to represent the pride of the clan. The disciples gathered in the arena.
A short while later, the beat of the drums picked up in intensity.
An announcer stood tall and declared, “Leaders of Lanling Jin Clan, Yunmeng Jiang Clan, Qinghe Nie Clan, and Gusu Lan Clan have arrived!”
The disciples all stood in straight rows as four men walked down the path in the middle. At the front of the four leaders stood Nie Mingjue, his head held high.
Jiang Cheng was thinking about the winners this time with the absence of his brother while Lan Wangji, stood near his sect disciples ,remained calmly facing forward.
Nie Mingjue stopped suddenly. The man turned to glare at the places laid out for them, then up at the elevated centerpiece where Wen Rouhan would soon sit. He still couldn't get used to it despite facing the situation twice.
Nie Mingjue's face twitched angrily, Lan Qiren who followed his brother spoke.
“Easy, Sect Leader Nie,” he advised.
“Despite seeing all this for the second time I still can't get over it . Us the four Clans and the Wen Clan always sat together as host and guests, but now Wen Rouhan is acting like he’s the Leader of all Clans and knowing he aims to be one doesn't help at all”
“He has mastered many powerful skills,merged three established clans even some minor clans and we know he controls yin iron though not at full extent,” Qingheng jun replied.
" At this point, he is powerful enough that he no longer needs to pretend to be friendly with us.”Lan Qiren added
"Hm and we are not powerful enough to stop any if that, despite the help from the celestial mountain, despite getting rid of the yin iron , despite knowing future we can do nothing about it, we got to know about it only later as we focused on securing our own clans, master xiao is right about one thing we only cared about it when situation came to us"
“ though I can't argue with that ,Sect Leader Nie, please. I know you want to avenge your father and you want to start the war as soon as possible , but the Wens’ influence is immense and they’re ruthlessness, moreover there is nothing we can do apart from giving shelter to those who suffered.For the sake of our clan, we have to be patient , we have to bear with it for the time being, we will react when the time comes,” Lan Qiren concluded
Jin Guangshan oblivious and uncaring about their discussion sat down. A moment later, the man later smiled with false pleasantries.
he greeted them and after observing an angry look at Nie mingjue he thought the reason for his anger must be the sitting arrangement. He spoke “No need to be angry, Sect Leader Nie. What's there in sitting arrangement anyway.Why not just sit down and have a drink?”
Nie Mingjue huffed and took a seat, Jiang Fengmian who was at back not listening to the whole conversation but the part from Jin Guangshan moved to his own spot.
