The timeline is messed up , wangji don't know when the people will be in Xuan wu cave , he don't have much information about it, he wrote a letter to Nie Mingjue about it, Nie Mingjue kept the spies near there, after a few days he got a message that, they saw  wens wandering around the mountain, patrolling there( in case someone escape from there) , he immediately want to go but Wei Ying sent a message to stop him. He remembered the conversation.

Lan wangji was leaving for the rescue of his brother when the voice came from the butterfly given by Wei ying , generally they only spoke at night if there is no emergency, Lan wangji got more worried.
