JENNIE

“Crazy. Totally crazy, over the moon… in love with you.” Before Jennie could respond, Lisa’s lips were on hers.

Jennie froze. Her breath caught when Lisa finally pulled back, leaving her knees weak, her hands clutching Lisa’s shoulders for support. Lisa smiled, gently running her thumb over Jennie’s lower lip.

“Still the sweetest,” Lisa murmured.

Jennie’s mouth was partly open, her heart racing, but her mind was hazy. Did Lisa really just say she’s in love with her? She shook her head, unsure if she’d heard it right. She tried to focus.

“Tell me why Rosie was calling you, Lisa, now!”

But before she could get another word out, Lisa kissed her again. This kiss was hotter, more intense, and Jennie couldn’t help but moan. The sound of her own voice horrified her.

“How dare you kiss me like that…?” she stammered.

Lisa laughed, pulling her into a tight hug. Jennie tried to push away, but Lisa just held on tighter.

“Don’t, honey. Listen to me—really listen, Jennie. I love you. I am in love with you. God, it feels so good to finally say that!” Lisa exhaled loudly, tilting her head up but keeping Jennie close.

“I’ll explain everything about Rosie. I promised her I wouldn’t say anything, but… screw it, it’s already been dealt with.” Lisa guided Jennie to one of the massage beds, still holding her hands.

The blonde then explained Rosé’s situation. Jennie listened quietly, her emotions shifting from concern to anger as she cursed the man who had wronged her sister. She wanted to confront him herself. The realization of what Lisa had done for Rosé hit her hard, piercing her heart. She was so hurt.

“Jennie, honey… are you okay?” Lisa asked, her eyes full of concern.

“Stop. Don’t call me that,” Jennie snapped.

“What?”

“I am not your honey!”

“Jennie…” Lisa’s tone was firm, as if saying to her not to push further.

“I’m grateful you helped my sister, I am. But that doesn’t mean you have a claim over me. You can’t just say you love me and expect me to believe you. You told me you were done with me—you said you were just playing with me.”

“J-Jennie, baby…”

“I know I owe you, and so does my family. But this… this has to stop, Lisa. Quit playing with me and telling me you… love me. It’s out of line. Do you understand?”

“Yes.”

“Good.”

“I understand that you’re full of shit, honey. But it’s alright. I’m sorry for all the things I said before. I only said them because you hurt me. And I know you’re smart enough to understand why. I love you, and I’m not gonna stop telling you that.”

LISA

Lisa was furious. She had finally told Jennie she loved her, and Jennie didn’t believe her!

She had seen Jennie’s reaction—the brunette had kissed her back. Every tiny response to her touch and kiss suggested Jennie felt the same. Lisa wanted to believe Jennie had feelings for her, too, but the frustration was overwhelming. Jennie was packing her things, ready to leave.

Oddly enough, when Jennie called her a mobster, Lisa wasn’t insulted anymore. It was almost funny, realizing that when it came to Jennie, she was willing to let it go. She wanted to prove how much Jennie meant to her, but before she could explain, Jennie had walked out.
