Jennie hitched her breath when she saw Lisa inside her office. Lisa was sitting in her chair, facing the laptop on her desk, an amused smile on her face. Jennie knew what she was looking at—it was her computer's screensaver, a collage of Angelina Jolie pictures. Jennie had a thing for Angelina; she admired her and had been her favorite actress since college. She had downloaded a few Angelina Jolie pin-ups, some a little sexy and risqué. Jennie just loved the woman's looks, especially her very long, shapely, sexy legs.

Jennie wanted to go and let her assistant have an earful; she hadn’t even notified Jennie of Lisa’s presence in the office. The Thai woman was still looking at her screen, and Jennie wasn't sure if she hadn’t noticed her there yet or was just waiting for Jennie to talk.

Lisa was wearing a square-shouldered black coat matched with black Zouave pants. Jennie couldn’t decide if Lisa looked like a ruthless businesswoman or a marvelous model.

“You like Angelina, huh?” Lisa's voice startled Jennie.

“What a—are you doing here?” Jennie went straight to another table inside the room, putting down the files she had brought in.

“We’re voting today, aren’t we?” Today was the board meeting mainly composed of Kim relatives, and now, the board included this woman. Jennie’s father used to own eighty-five percent of the company; now, they only had half of that. He had been the president of the company but had resigned a week ago, saying he couldn’t face any of his relatives anymore. Jennie was now acting as the president of the company.

“I know. I just didn’t expect you to be here this early.” Jennie didn’t understand why she felt nervous having Lisa in her office; she was hours early for the meeting.

Lisa looked at her wristwatch. “I’m two hours early. And with two hours, we can do a lot of stuff here.” She stood up and walked toward Jennie. Jennie planned to step back, but there was no room to move.

“What are you doing?”

“Are you scared of me?” Lisa frowned.

“N-no.”

“Your hands are trembling.”

Indeed, they were. Jennie put her hands behind her back and faced Lisa. “I still have a lot of things to prepare before the meeting. Now leave me here, if you don’t mind.”

“But I do mind, honey. This is no way to entertain a guest, Jennie. You’re a very… bad… host.” Lisa lifted her hand to reach Jennie’s face and tilted her head. Jennie felt her heart rise to her throat.

Lisa was looking intently at her, and Jennie couldn’t look away. She swallowed a few times, her throat suddenly dry. She was sure Lisa was going to kiss her. She waited, anticipated, and thought about what her move would be, but the kiss never happened. Instead, Lisa grinned and traced her finger along Jennie's cheek.

“What do you think I’ll do, Jennie?”

Jennie’s cheeks heated up, frustrated that Lisa hadn’t kissed her. “I don’t know. I don’t have time for this, L-Lisa.”

“We can skip this stage, honey, just say so.”

Again, Jennie swallowed and walked to her chair, feeling a little safer there. The table kept Lisa at least a few feet away, but Jennie still felt almost suffocated by the woman's presence. Lisa was crowding her big office!

She had never met anyone like Lisa before, and she didn’t know how to deal with her.

“And what stage is that exactly?” Jennie tried to sound irritated, but she had a feeling it didn’t come through in her voice. Lisa was looking at her as if she could see right through her, and Jennie was sure she did. Lisa probably knew she felt like a scared little kitten.
