Chapter 7

I got freshed up and was waiting for my anna.

"Malini, nee onnu pannu, intha chinna pasangalukku padikka books theva paduthu, unakku kaasu thanthu viduren, vaangittu jailah oru room irukkula, anga wait pannu. Naan konja velaya veliya poitu varen." he said giving me money to go buy the books
(Malini, do one thing, the boys need books to study, I'll give you money to buy the books. After you've bought them, wait in the classroom in the jail.)

I left the place, and got in an auto. I got of and bought all the books and was on my way back. I got the jail and was walking inside. When suddenly, my way was blocked by a few boys.

"Enna venum?" I asked
(What do you want?)

"Nee thaan venum variya?" the guy in the middle asked and all others laughed at the joke
(I want you, wanna join?)

"Summa iru Das, paapa bayandutha pothu." another guy said still laughing
(Hey leave her Das, poor girl, she'll get scared)

I turned to move away from them.

"Ei nildri, un per ennanu sollittu podi." Das said pulling my dupatta of my shoulder
(Hey wait, tell us your name first)

He took my dupatta and smirked and wrapped it around his hand. I stood there shocked. I ignored him and walked off to the room anna told me to wait at. I set the books down and waited for him to come back.

*15 mins later*
Anna was back with a new haircut and completely different style. It suited him. All the boys as well as Das and his group came in. Das threw my dupatta in my face and stood in a corner watching me the entire time.
Anna came in last.

"Uh anna, neenga sonna ellathayum vaangitten." I said patting my hands on the books
(Uh brother, I bought everything you told me to buy)

"Sari Malini." he said diverting his attention back to boys

"Oh appo un peru Malini yah? Parvala per mathiriye neeyum azhaga thaan irukka." Dheena said making everyone laugh
(Oh so your name is Malini. Not bad, you look just as pretty as your name)

"Ellarum muthala heightwise nillunga. Height kammi yah irukkuravan munnala, jaasthiya irukkuravanga pinnala. Come on fast." he said
(Everyone stand according to height. Short people in front, tall people in the back.)

"Uh uh, sound vitta bayanthuduvomnu nenaichiyo? Vera choliya paaththu kelumbu." a boy said
(Uh uh, did you think we would get scared if shouted. Go look for something else to do and leave)

"Ei konjamachum bayantha maathiri nadingada! Paavamala vaathi." another one said
(Ei act as if you got scared, poor boy Master)

"Innoru thadava sollren ellarum heightwise nillunga." anna said again
(I'm telling you again stand according to your height)

"Intha vaathi heighta vachchulam engala match panna mudiyathu, weighta vachchu venumna pannalam. Itho thadi maadu mathiri nikkurane, pickpocket case uh, pulipasori, aana namma Sittarambi matta case senthavan. Gethu. Appo avan thaane weight uh!" a boy said
(Look here you can't match us with our height, if you want you can do it with our weight. The guy here came in with a pickpocket case but our Sittarambi came in differently. He is cooler, so obviously he has more weight.)

"Un per enna?" amna asked him
(What's your name?)

The boy just laughed

"Unna thaanda, un per enna?" anna asked him again
(I'm asking you, what's your name?)

"Vaathi, mela kai vaikka koodathu, theriyumla?" the boy replied
(Sir, you can't touch us, you know that right?)

"Sir. Pasanga mela kai vaikka koodathu. Rules uh. Kaiya kiyya vachchu maatikka pora." the warden said
(Sir, you can't touch them. It's the rules. You're gonna get caught.)
