Oh no, what am I going to do now?
"Enna kaa ipdi panni vachchuruka?" they asked me
(What did you do?)"Dei neenga nenaikkura mathiri onnum illa." I reassured them but deep down I even disagreed with myself.
(Boys its not what you think)"Appo vera enna kaa?" another boy asked
(So what is it?)"Athellam sonna ungazhukku puriyathu." I said brushing the question of
(You won't understand)"En kaa unakku Das annava pudikkuma?" Undiyal asked
(Do you like Das?)"Apdilam onnum illa. Ippo athuva ungazhukku mukkiyam? Padikka vanthirukkingala, illa police mathiri kelvi ketka vanthirukkingala?" I sais getting a bit annoyed
(It's nothing like that. Is it that important? Are you here to study or question me like the police?)"Illa kaa, sorry kaa, naanga padikkurom." they said and I started to teach then things and had a laugh in the process of it all too
(No, we'll study)Soon they all left and packed everything up deciding to go for a walk in the grounds and see what's up.
I was walking around when I felt eyes on me. I looked around to see Das looking right at me while smoking. I just looked at him and stared for a bit before it's started raining heavily. I loved the rain and closed my eyes feeling quite relaxed. Just then a hand grabbed me and dragged me in.
I opened my eyes to find Das standing infront of me.
"Ippo ethukku en kaiya pudichchu ulla izhuthuttu vantha?" I asked him
(Why did you drag me in now?)"Mazhai peiyuthu, nee vera apdiye ninna, athaan unakku juram vanthuidumenu thaan ulla izhuthuttu vanthen." he simply said
(It's raining and you were just standing there. You would get sick so I dragged you inside.)"Oho! En mela sirukku eppo pasamlam vanthuchchi?" I asked teasingly
(Oh! When did sir start caring for me?)"Apdilam onnum illa." he said looking away
(It's nothing like that)"Nambitten." I said sarcastically before crossing my arms over my chest
(I believe you)"Nambina po, nambelanalum po. Atha patti enakku kavala illa." he said
(Believe me or don't, I don't care)I chuckled slightly while watching pull a cigarette out of his pocket, light it up and start smoking. I stood there in disbelief, even after all that I said in the morning, he didn't listen did he?
I was staring at him and he saw me. He handed his cigareete to me and I took it. Then next thing he knew I dropped the cigarette on the florr and stepped on it.
"Ei ippo ethukku apdi panna?" he asked me
(Hey why did you do that?)"Unkitta naan kaalaila avlom solliyum nee kekkala thaane?" I snapped back
(Even after everything I said you still don't want to listen?)"Ithaan en vaazhkka. Naan onnum unakkaha marathevala?" he said
(This is my life. I don't have to change for you)"Naan onnum unna enakkaha mara sollala, nee intha ketta pazhakkam ellathayum vittana unna ariyamale nee maariduva." I said walking over to the lear and leaning there
(I'm not asking for you to change for me, if you stop of the bad habits, you'll change without you knowing)I stared and the rainfall, putting my hand out in the rain and playing with the rainwater.
Das walked up and stood beside me his hands behing his back.
"Enna?" I asked turning my head to look at him
(What?)"Onnum illa, aama nee ashramaththula vazhunthanu chinna pasanga sonnanga, unamaiya?" he asked suddenly
(Nothing. Apparently you grew up at an orphanage. I heard the boys saying that, is it true?)"Mhm." I simply replied still staring at the rain
"Unakku un amma appa mela kovam illaya?" he asked
(Aren't you mad at your mum and dad?)"Avanga yaarne enakku theriyathu, ithala kovam vera. Arambaththula konjam kovama thaan irunthuchi. Naan ponnah irukkurathala enna anga vittuttu poi irukkalam illa avangalukku enna vazharkka mudiyathu sollanalayavum irukkalam." I replied
(How am I meant to be mad at them when I don't know who they are? I mean I was a bit angry at first. They could've left me there because I was a girl or even because they weren't able to take care of me.)"Aana ennava irunthalum avanga illaathathu konjam kavala thaan. College la padikkuravanga avanga amma appa kooda oor muzhukku poranga enakku thaan kuduthu vaikkula. But athulayum oru nalla vishayam. Naan en annana paathirukka maaten, aprom en friends, intha chinna pasanga. En vaazhkaila ivanga ellarum irukka romba happy yah irukku." I smiled lookig at him, he was smiling too making my heart skip a beat.
(But either way I do feel sad when I see my friends with their parents. There is still a positive thing about because if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have met my brother, or my friends or even the boys here. It feels good to have all these people in my life.)Just like that we chatted away for a bit before deciding to part our ways for the day. Maybe Das isn't as bad as everyone thinks he is. Or at least, I don't think he is as bad as he is.
