Chloe's POV:
My alarm blared to life an hour earlier than necessary, piercing through the silence of our dorm room. I groggily reached over to turn it off, but as I sat up, excitement coursed through my veins. Our first day of classes!
I threw off the covers and got out of bed, trying not to disturb Red, who was still fast asleep. I began picking out my outfit for the day - a crisp blue shirt, matching pants, and my trusty blue glass slippers (which were actually boots, but I loved the whimsical touch).
As I headed to the bathroom to get ready, I glanced over at Red, who was still dead to the world. I smiled, deciding to let her sleep in for a bit longer. I took a quick hot shower, brushed my teeth, and styled my hair.
When I emerged from the bathroom, Red was still fast asleep. I checked the time - we had only half an hour left before our first class. I gently shook her shoulder, trying to rouse her.
"Red, wake up! We have to go!"
She groggily opened one eye, then closed it again. "Five more minutes..."
I wasn't having it. I kept shaking her shoulder, trying to get her to wake up. Finally, Red sat up with a start, rubbing her eyes.
"What's the big deal? I'm up."
I breathed a sigh of relief. "We have to get going! Our first class starts soon."
Red yawned, stretching her arms over her head. "Fine, fine. I'm going."
As she got ready, I couldn't help but notice how striking she looked in her signature red outfit - a bold red shirt, matching pants, and her black boots with red designs.
When she caught me staring, she smirked. "Let's go, Glass. We don't want to be late."
I blushed, feeling a flutter in my chest. "Right. Let's go."
We headed out the door, and I couldn't help but wonder what the day had in store for us.
........
Red's POVAs we walked to our first class, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Chloe was practically bouncing with excitement, while I was trying to play it cool. We arrived at the classroom, and I raised an eyebrow. "We're way too early. Only two students are here."
Chloe grinned. "Better to be early than late on our first day, right?"
I rolled my eyes. "You're really enthusiastic about this, aren't you?"
Chloe nodded, her eyes shining with excitement. "Why not? It's a new beginning! We get to start fresh and make a good impression."
I snorted. "You're something else, Glass."
We took our seats, and I pulled out my phone to check the time. Chloe started fidgeting, looking around the empty classroom. I raised an eyebrow. "Relax, Glass. We've got time."
But Chloe just kept glancing at the door, a look of anticipation on her face. I shook my head, chuckling to myself. This was going to be an interesting year.
As we sat there, two students walked in and made a beeline for us. Great, just what I needed. More people to deal with.
"Hey, I'm Alex, son of Ariel and Eric," one of them said, flashing a friendly smile. "And this is Maya, daughter of Megara and Hercules."
Chloe smiled back, always the social butterfly. "I'm Chloe, daughter of King Charming and Cinderella. And this is Red, daughter of the Queen of Hearts."
I grunted a greeting, not bothering to hide my disinterest. Why did Chloe have to go and introduce me like that? I didn't need everyone knowing my mom's... reputation.
Alex and Maya didn't seem to take offense, thankfully. Alex started chatting with Chloe about classes and professors, and Maya turned to me.
"So, Red, what do you think of the school so far?"
I raised an eyebrow, not feeling like small talk. "It's fine, I guess."
Maya's eyes sparkled with amusement. "That's... enthusiastic. I'm sure you'll love it here."
I shrugged, not bothering to respond. Chloe jumped in, trying to smooth things over.
"Red's just a little shy, that's all."
I glared at her, but she just smiled innocently. I was not shy. I just didn't see the point in pointless conversations.

Chloe's Pov
As the rest of the class filed in, I couldn't help but think about how Red had acted when Alex and Maya introduced themselves. So abrupt and dismissive. I hoped she wouldn't scare off our new classmates.
But as the bell rang and our teacher, Professor Everwood, introduced himself, I pushed those thoughts aside. History was my favorite subject, and I couldn't wait to dive in.
"Welcome, students, to our History of Magical Realms class," Professor Everwood said, his eyes twinkling with enthusiasm. "I promise you, this will be a fascinating journey through time."
I smiled, already feeling at home. But when I glanced over at Red, she looked like she'd rather be anywhere else. I knew she wasn't a fan of History, but I hoped she'd at least try to participate.
As Professor Everwood began to outline the course syllabus, I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Maya, who whispered, "Hey, Chloe, what's the deal with Red? She seems... intense."
I leaned in, trying to keep my voice down. "That's just Red being Red. She's got a lot on her plate, what with her mom being the Queen of Hearts and all."
Maya's eyes widened in surprise. "Whoa, I had no idea. No wonder she seems so... prickly."
I nodded sympathetically. "Yeah, it's not easy being the Queen's daughter. But Red's got a soft spot deep down. You just have to get to know her."
.............
Red's Pov
Ugh, History. Just what I needed. Another boring class where I get to listen to some old guy drone on about ancient magical realms.
As Professor Everwood introduced himself, I tuned out, my mind already wandering to more interesting things... like what I was going to do after class.
But when he started talking about class activities - debates, research papers, and group projects - I groaned inwardly. Just great. More opportunities for people to get on my nerves.
As I half-listened to the professor's monologue, I caught snippets of conversation between Maya and Chloe. Something about me being "intense" and having a "soft spot deep down". I raised an eyebrow, slightly annoyed. Who did they think they were, analyzing me like that?
But I didn't say a word. I just kept my cool, observing them with a detached interest. Let them think what they wanted. I knew the truth - I was the Queen of Hearts' daughter, and I wouldn't let anyone get too close.
As the lesson continued, I participated just enough to avoid drawing attention to myself. But my mind was already racing ahead, thinking about how to get through this class with minimal effort... and wondering how I could use this time to my advantage.
..........
.. I hope that works for everyone ✌️
