Chloe's POV

I groggily reached over to turn off the alarm blaring in my ear. Red's annoying voice cut through the fog. "Turn it off, Chloe! It's too early!"

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. "Why are you yelling at me? And why do I even set an alarm today, anyway?"

Red rolled over, pulling the blankets up to her neck. "Because you're a glutton for punishment? I don't know. But it's a holiday, so can we just sleep in?"

I sat up, a sly grin spreading across my face. "You don't know what today is, do you?"

Red's eyes cracked open, and she glared at me. "The only thing I care about is that it's a holiday, and I need some sleep."

I couldn't contain my laughter. "It's Visiting Day, Red!"

Red's eyes went wide, and she yelled, "VISITING DAY?!" as she leapt out of bed and sprinted to the bathroom.

I stifled my laugh, but Red glared at me through the open door, giving me the "stop laughing" look.

When she emerged, frazzled and frantic, she demanded, "Why didn't you tell me it was Visiting Day earlier?"

I shrugged, trying to hide my amusement. "You were being grumpy, and besides, you're being told now."

Red's scowl deepened, but I just chuckled and got out of bed, ready to face the chaos of Visiting Day.

As we entered the great hall, Fairy Godmother announced that the parents had arrived. We made our way to the entrance, where I eagerly hugged my mom and dad. Red, on the other hand, stood awkwardly beside me.

"Mom, do you remember Red?" I asked, trying to break the ice.

My mom smiled warmly. "How could I forget Red? Hi, dear, how are you?"

Red mumbled a greeting, her eyes scanning the crowd for her own mom. But as the moments passed, her expression fell. She excused herself from my family and started to turn away, looking disappointed.

"I think my mom forgot," she whispered to me, her voice trembling.

Red's POV

I trudged back to my dorm, feeling defeated. I thought for sure my mom would come today. But as I walked, I heard a car pull up behind me.

"Red, darling!"

My heart skipped a beat as I turned to see my mom extending her arm. I ran to her, embracing her tightly.

"I thought you forgot!" I exclaimed, my voice muffled against her shoulder.

My mom laughed, hugging me back. "How could I forget to visit my dear daughter?"

I pulled back, beaming with happiness. "I was worried you didn't want to come."

My mom's expression turned serious. "Of course I wanted to come, sweetie. I'm so proud of you."

As we walked to my dorm room, I asked my mom about Wonderland. "How is everything back home? I miss it."

My mom smiled wistfully. "Things have changed, sweetie. Everyone is living happily ever after."

I nodded, feeling a pang of nostalgia.

When we arrived at the dorm, we found the Charmings and Chloe chatting in the common room. Bridget greeted us warmly, and we joined the group.

As the visit came to a close, our parents hugged us tightly. Bridget asked the Charmings if they'd like to grab lunch together, and they agreed.

As our parents left, I turned to Chloe and raised an eyebrow. "It still feels weird to see my mom being all sweet to Ella." I whispered.

Chloe nodded in agreement. "I know what you mean. But it's actually nice to see our parents not hating each other for once."

I smiled, feeling a sense of hope. Maybe things were changing for the better.

Chloe grinned mischievously. "And who knows, maybe our moms will start a book club together or something."

I laughed, imagining the unlikely scenario. "Stranger things have happened, right?"

Chloe's POV

Whenever Red laughed at one of my jokes, I felt my heart swell with happiness. We were chatting and having a great time when someone knocked on the door. I got up to answer it and was thrilled to see my step-cousin Dizzy, who practically dragged me into a hug. Behind her was Celia.

"Hey, cuz!" Dizzy exclaimed. "I was thinking, since we have a free period, we should go to the Isle of the Lost!"

"I've never been there before," I admitted, feeling a bit excited and nervous.

Celia smiled knowingly. "You'll love it, Chloe. It's one of my favorite places."

Red nodded, a small smile on her face. "Yeah, it's definitely an experience. And Celia can show us all the secret spots... or maybe just the ones where she's gotten lost before."

Celia blushed, and Dizzy laughed. "Hey, hey, no teasing! We're all friends here."

I nudged Red's arm, and we exchanged a knowing look. Red was always quick with a joke, and I loved her for it.

Dizzy grinned mischievously. "And I've already talked to Principal Uma, so we're good to go. Meet you both at the entrance?"

As we agreed on a time, I couldn't help but feel a thrill of anticipation. I had heard so many stories about the Isle of the Lost, and I was eager to see it for myself.

Red nudged me, whispering, "Don't worry, Chloe. We'll stick together."

I smiled back at her, feeling grateful for my friends. This was going to be an adventure!

Red looked at me and whispered, "Those two girls like each other."

I climbed onto my bed and said, "I know, right?" which made us both laugh.

Red said we had time before we needed to get ready, so she could sleep for a bit. She lay down on her bed, and I teased, "Of course, sleepyhead!"

Red rolled her eyes and tossed her pillow at me, making us both laugh even harder.

I love seeing Red like this, relaxed and smiling. It makes me feel happy knowing my friend is content.

I lay down on my bed and looked at Red, who had already fallen asleep. I smiled and closed my eyes, enjoying the moment of tranquility before our adventure to the Isle of the Lost.
