Anyone who knew Alessia Russo was well aware she was not a morning person. She'd either ignore or sleep through her multiple alarms leaving you with the almost impossible challenge of waking her up. On the weekends you supposed you didn't mind doing it.
She'd grumble, push you away. It was only after bribing her with as many cuddles as her heart desires did she somewhat rouse and that would only be for a few seconds. She'd rise to her knees, twist, before dropping herself quite literally on top of you. You'd get a mouthful of her hair as her body all but pins yours to the bed. Her arms would slide beneath your shirt, soft hands resting against the warm skin of your sides. Each exhale against your neck would litter your skin with goosebumps, and you'd shiver just slightly as you'd slip your own hands beneath her shirt too.
Only a few soft words would be shared, and you'd lay like that for hours, content to just exist in one another's company.
The weekdays however, were a little different.
It would start off the same. Her alarm would ring. You'd wake up immediately and she'd grumble and snooze it before switching positions and falling back to sleep. That would happen three more times before you'd take her phone and turn off any and all alarms set in a futile effort to prevent her from ignoring them.
This lead you to now. You stare at her sleeping body as you set her phone down onto your nightstand, knowing already that this would be an impossible task. She was sprawled out on her stomach, arms either side of her head with half of her face hidden by her mountain of pillows. Her breathing was soft and steady, telling you she was no closer to waking up than she had been ten minutes ago.
"Lessi," you call softly as you partially lay back down, leaning on your elbow and resting your head in your hand. She was facing you now, allowing you reach out and gently brush a stray strand of blonde hair back behind her ear. She stirs just slightly at this, eyebrows furrowing and nose twitching. Your lips quirk up in gentle amusement, as you lean forward and press, gentle kiss her cheek. "Baby? It's seven. You need to leave the house in half an hour."
You bring your hand down and gently pat her back, hoping the action would rouse her. But of course it does nothing of the sort. With a soft sigh, you sit up and throw a leg over her hips so you're affectively sitting on her butt. You lean down and tuck your hands between the mattress and her stomach, skin meeting skin due to her lack of shirt.
"Alessia? Wakey wakey." You coo, peppering gentle kisses to as many places as you could reach. The blonde beneath you lets out a quiet grunt as she tries yet fails to knock you off of her, and your smile widens knowing you were getting somewhere. "If you get up now I'll make you coffee." You attempt to persuade, freeing one of your hands from beneath her and using it to yet again brush her hair out of her face.
A single baby blue eye flickers open.
"Coffee?" She rasps, and you hum, placing yet another kiss to her cheek. It was warm, and you couldn't help but press a few more kisses to the soft skin. Her lips quirk up just slightly at the feeling, and you couldn't help but mimic it.
"Maybe tomorrow." She murmurs with a deep sigh as her eyes close again, and stare at her dumbly for promptly ten seconds before you roll your eyes and sit up on top of her. You knew it wouldn't be this easy. Before you could say anything else, she turns around underneath you so she was laying on her back, bringing her arms up to cover her face as her chest expands with a deep breath.
Blonde hair sprawls around her pillow like a halo, and you stare in awe for a few moments before continuing with the task at hand. Waking her up before she was late to training. Still straddling her hips, you lean forward and rest your elbows on either side of her neck, your face just millimetres away from her own. You feel each gentle exhale that escapes her nose; see her eyelashes flicker against her cheeks. She looked so relaxed you almost didn't want to wake her.
Knowing that wasn't really an option right now, you cup her cheeks in your hands and trail the pads of your thumbs over the soft skin, "lessi? Baby, you really need to wake up if you don't want to be late."
She groans.
"I know," you grab the wrists and gently force them away from her face. She squints up at you, a disgruntled expression on her face.
"I'm awake." She grumbles, tugging her arms out of your grip.
"You are?"
"Mhh. I'm eating breakfast."
You raise an eyebrow in amusement. "Oh, really?"
"Mhh, I'm getting dressed."
You nod as you shift a little on top of her, stifling back the laughter that so desperately wants to escape as you once again cup her cheeks and press your lips in a soft kiss against her nose.
"Nice outfit." You comment with a smile, and despite the fact she tries to hide it, you see Alessia's lips quirk up at the corners too. Her eyes however, stubbornly remain shut.
"I know. I'm driving to training."
You snort, eyes absentmindedly flickering to the clock. You bite your bottom lip at the time that greets you as you bring your attention back to Alessia. "Baby, I hate to be a downer, but you have twenty minutes to get up, dressed, eat, and drive to training."
Alessia sits up so quickly she was just inches away from slamming her forehead into your own. Your heart pounds at the close call as she cranes her head around you to get a good look at the time herself, all but shoving you off her as she scrambles out of bed and rushes through to the bathroom.
"Alessia!" You yelp in dismay.
"Sorry baby!" You hear her call from the bathroom as the toilet flushes and the tap turns on.
"You will be, stubborn woman." You grumble, climbing out of bed yourself and making your way through to the kitchen. The tiles were cold against your feet, and you cross your arms over your chest in a futile effort at keeping warm as you head over to the refrigerator to figure out what to make you both for breakfast.
Knowing realistically that she wouldn't have time to eat here, you put her coffee in a travel cup and place a granola bar and banana beside it. She stumbles into the kitchen just moments later looking a little more put together than before, wearing one of her many tracksuits with her blonde hair brushed and tied back into its usual ponytail.
Her blue eyes light up at the sight of you, and you watch as she drops her kitbag to the floor before stepping forward and wrapping her arms around your shoulders. You melt into her on instinct alone, cheek flush against her chest as your own arms settle securely around her waist.
"Thank you, baby." She murmurs into the top of your head, and you hum quietly as you pat her behind a few times before pulling away. When she refuses to let you go, you look up at her with a knowing smile on your face. Due to the fact she didn't get her morning cuddles today, you knew for a fact she was going to be even more clingy than usual.
You knew you should tell her to let go. To leave before she was late and Leah made her run laps. But you just couldn't bring yourself to do so, especially when her hands slips beneath your shirt and comes to rest against the small of your back.
"You're going to be late my love." You warn in a quiet murmur as your arms resettle around her waist, and Alessia hums knowingly.
"I know." She muses.
"Leah's going to make you run laps again."
"That's okay." She accepts.
"You must really love me, huh?" You look up at her, chin resting against her chest. She stares down at you, cupping your cheek with her hand pressing her lips against your own in a tender kiss. You don't hesitate to reciprocate, tucking your thumbs into the waistband of her pants.
"Oh baby, you have no idea." She whispers.
