You could see the exhale of every breath you take as you walk through the quiet streets of England with your hand firmly intertwined with Ona's own. It was the first time you'd been back home since transferring over to Barcelona nearly nine months ago, and you had the ultimate pleasure of bringing your girlfriend of two years with you.

It was nearing winter time, the leaves that had turned brown and fallen from the trees crunching beneath your feet. Used to the extremely hot weather of her home country, Ona hadn't had the foresight to pack anything remotely warm despite your warnings for her to do so. She'd also politely declined your offering of a coat despite her cheeks and nose turning red too, insisting that her hoodie would be enough, and you knew it was only a matter or time until you inevitably shed your own coat for her to wear instead.

"Look, amor," Ona lifts her free hand and points to the river flowing just to the left of your body. You follow her finger, lips quirking up into a smile when you see a mother duck and her babies. They were swimming in the opposite direction to where you were walking, and you can't help but laugh softly as Ona pulls you to an abrupt stop. "Look at the baby ducks!" She coos.

"I see," you squeeze her hand softly. Ona turns to face you for a second, freckled cheeks rosy with the cold. "You've never seen a duck before?" You question a little playfully, amused at her pure wonder for the animal you typically see at least once a week.

Ona rolls her eyes as she nudges you in the side with her elbow, pulling her hand out of your own and crossing her arms against her chest. "Of course I have." She grumbles softly as her eyes refocus on the ducks.

You could tell by the quirk of her lips an the glint in her eye that she wasn't all that mad, and you can't help but gently kiss the dimple that appears on her cheek as you settle in a content silence next to her. It was only when she not so subtly shivers again for the third time in five minutes do you decide it was probably time to give up your coat.

Ona, seemingly enthralled with her duck find, doesn't seem to notice you silently stripping out of your coat before stepping a little behind her and placing it over her shoulders. A quiet sound of confusion does escape her lips however, when you wind your arms around her waist to tug her body backwards against your own, bringing the coat with you and effectively wrapping the thick material around the entirety of her upper body.

Instinct alone seemingly has her relaxing into your embrace without thought, though that doesn't seem to last very long when she realises just what you'd done. She cranes her head against your shoulder to face you, her once smiling lips now turned down into an unhappy looking frown. "No, amor, I-"

"Shh," you gently cut her off, tightening your arms around her just slightly. "I'm a Brit. I'm used to this weather. You, my darling, are not. Just say thank you and let's move on, okay?"

"But-"

"Baby.."

Ona grumbles quietly as she begrudgingly nods her head in acceptance, tugging her crossed arms out from beneath your own before grabbing onto each of your hands instead. You place a kiss to the side of her head, happy she hadn't fought you as much as she normally would have done.

"Gracias." She murmurs a second later, and you smile as you give her a comforting squeeze.

"You're welcome, darling."
