I stretched and walked out of the classroom after the last class of the day. My body ached with exhaustion, and my stomach growled, craving food.

The smell of vada pav wafted through the air, pulling me towards it. I spotted a street stall, and my mouth watered instantly.

Me and my obsession with street food.

I walked over and ordered two vada pavs, knowing one would never be enough to satisfy my hunger. With one in hand and the other tucked inside my college bag, I made my way to the bus stop.

Standing there, I took a bite, savouring the spicy taste of potatoes with the tang of green and red chutney.

I took a second bite, glancing around to pass the time. A quick check of my wristwatch told me I'd be waiting for another 20 minutes before my bus arrived.

My gaze landed on a narrow, quiet road nearby. I frowned, noticing a teenage girl heading down that path, and my eyes widened when I saw a van trailing behind her. Without a second thought, I hurried toward the road, ignoring everything else around me.

As I stepped onto the road, I saw a man getting out of the van, moving swiftly behind the girl. There was something off about him, he wore a black mask and a cap pulled low, obscuring most of his face, radiating an unsettling vibe.

"What the hell..." I muttered under my breath, just loud enough for me to hear. The next moment left me stunned, the man pressed a white napkin over her mouth, and I saw her body shudder in his grasp.

I quickly pulled out my phone, dialing the police with shaky hands. I relayed the situation and the address as fast as I could, and they assured me they'd arrive in ten minutes. But glancing at the scene unfolding before me, I knew I couldn't wait that long. I had to stop that man myself.

"Hey, stop!" I shouted, catching his attention. I sprinted toward them, but in my rush, my precious Vada pav slipped from my hand. I cursed under my breath, that creep had cost me my dear Vada pav.

I yanked the girl towards me with all my strength, my heart pounding. I watched as the man pulled something from his pocket, a knife. For a split second, fear flickered in my eyes, but I quickly masked it, not wanting to give him any satisfaction. He advanced, bringing the knife closer, while the girl clung tightly to my back, trembling in fear.

The creepy man stepped closer, and I felt a surge of panic and a flash of old nightmares trying to resurface. My mind raced, fighting against the fear gripping me.

Suddenly, an idea struck me. I focused on the knife inching nearer to my neck. In one swift move, I kicked his knee with all my strength, sending him crashing to the ground, the knife slipping from his grasp.
