Third DateThe sun was gentle yet bright, its warmth brushing against my skin. I squinted, the light too intense, but I couldn’t help a smile. I’d chosen a simple half kurta paired with wide denim jeans and a crossbody handbag. Today, I’d made it on time, no guilt about keeping him waiting.
But as my feet touched the ground, they froze, my eyes widening at the unexpected sight before me.
There he was standing in a fitted polo t-shirt and black jeans. It was a rare, almost unheard-of sight. I’d seen him once in a t-shirt before, though only briefly. That time, he’d changed into his usual tuxedo so quickly, I barely had a moment to take it in.
Today was different. This was my first proper look at him in something other than his formal attire, and I found myself unable to tear my eyes away.
In his hands was a delicate pink bouquet. He looked up, as if sensing me there, and immediately straightened, his polo t-shirt stretching over his broad shoulders.
My gaze trailed to his veined hands and the strong lines of his biceps—details that only seemed to enhance his casual look. It was then I noticed the coincidence: he was wearing brown, just like my half-kurta.
A soft smile curved his lips. "Good afternoon," he greeted. His voice nudged me out of my thoughts, and I managed a small, nervous smile in return. "Good morning," I replied, my voice barely more than a murmur.
Without a word, he extended the bouquet toward me, and I accepted it, thanking him with a quiet nod.
Time skip
In just ten minutes, we were well away from the car parking area.
Third way: Act dumb.
Yesterday, I messaged in the group chat about my last plan, which failed. But Zoya is too smart , and came to the rescue with more ideas.
Show that you’re dumb. He’s a businessman, someone who values sharpness and expects his future wife to match his intellect. If I act like I'm dumb, he might just cancel our engagement himself.
A smirk tugged at my lips as I envisioned the plan in action. This might finally be the one.
I suddenly stopped in my tracks, and he turned to look at me, concerned across his face. His brows knitted together. “What’s wrong, Jaanvi ji?”
Placing a hand on my forehead, I let out a sigh. “I... I forgot my bag in the car,” I said, lacing my voice with a hint of sadness. He studied me for a moment, then nodded with a reassuring smile. “Wait here, I’ll go get it.”
As he headed back to the parking area, leaving me with at least ten minutes to myself, I looked around, taking in the surroundings. We were near an amusement park, and the sight of the enormous Ferris wheel towering above caught my eye. The sounds of laughter and chatter drifted over, a lively chaos that added a certain charm to the atmosphere.
