Jimothy Alexander Thornton was moving to the outer banks for his 16th birthday to live back with his mother Cynthia and his brother, Topper, as a 'Kook'.
He was meant to stay away from the island as wanted by his mother, but since he had no choice in that matter thanks to a police man who did a background check on him, they gave that thought up so he could live with them for respite, especially since he wasn't an adult himself yet.
Jimmy was walking up the Thornton driveway carrying his small suitcase, a duffel bag and his skateboard in hand and sighed as he looked up at how big the house was. He knew that his family were rich, probably bathed in money he supposed, but he still wasn't used to it all yet.
He rolled his eyes at the thought of dealing with his brother as he began walking up the stairs, only to be stopped when he heard Topper's voice and two others he didn't recognize talking nearby, so like the nosy person he is, he put his stuff down on the drive and followed the voices.
He walked around the drive till he could see Topper and two other boys standing in the gym room- the three of them were talking to each other and didn't notice him standing there as he stood quietly to listen into their conversation.
The two boys were two Kooks he would have to get to know throughout his stay here, and Jimmy assumed they were the ones that Topper would mention in passing.

Jimmy sighed as he heard them laughing together and talking about all kinds of things, wishing he had something like that since he never got on with most people.
