Annoyance

"You're not teasing me, right? Because I really want that you're on it.", Samantha said while watching Renata's face changing from her usual self to a more serious one.

"Oh, gurl. I really want to say I'm joking but...I'm not.", she replied while taking a sip from her coffee. "I've been having this feeling almost a week ago...You remember Agatha's party? 'cause she got her place at the city? Well, during that party, dunno how but, I started to feeling that...someone was...looking at me. Almost ready to spill my beer on that person, I turned back and, nothing. Just the forest in the view. Since then, the sensation stills, and gets quite annoying during nighttime."

Samantha was shocked. How she can ignore such annoyance easily? On the other side, she remembered that Renata was stubborn and tough since highschool. Always having issues with the principal and counselor.

"You two, seriously?", noded Leandra while eating their carrot cake. "You know we're talking about the same forest whose recent mystery is from  1900s, right? 'cause you two are talking like is the first time someone stares at both,  understanding your existence... Don't dare to take my carrot cake, Aya!"

A sigh was heard from Ayaka while looking the cake.

"Your carrot cake taste better than mine...but you two said this started after seeing the forest? Forest is like a 2 miles downhill from the closest house. And like a a half more from Samantha's. I feel is impossible someone looked at you without equipment...", the green haired said while looking both girls.

Samantha felt a little angry due that. Her eyelid made a tick, and she just exhaled.

"You have a point, but I know the difference of an odd stare for my breasts or when I had to show my ID for any shitty reason, and this one isn't. It was like...primal.", she replied with a light angry tone.

"Girl, I just said what I think it's happening...ya know I do pass that shit too. And I've learned to keep myself focused on my things. Just...just take it easy, ok?", said back Leandra, a bit flustered.

"Well...I do feel less watched while having company...gonna guess is that...Ayaka?"

While talking, the green haired girl decided to walk to a window, one leading to a part of the forest, with little hops. Stuck her head, pressing it to the crystal. Her eyes were gazing to all the area. Then she came back, on the same way. And got scolded.

"The fuck you did, Ayaka? I'm talking about that and you just-", Samantha was saying

"Hey, nothing happened, Sam-chan. Just I have to...", Ayaka was nervous, but trying to not get too much underwhelmed. "Just looked to the forest, hoping to get any clue about, but, I feel as always. Just felt the necessity to, and, what better way to know something than experimentation?"

"You don't want this, trust me.", Sam said while exhaling. "Seems Renata and I are the only ones...".

The girl with glasses decided then to change subject and have a more friendly conversation. Between laughs, jokes and Ayaka being impulsive, the day passed quickly, making the girls to split and go to their homes. Samantha started to feel that sensation almost at the moment they've got separated, always coming from the woods. She decided then to take the bus and go home. While hearing music, she thought that seeing the view will calm her down. She was partially right.

The houses were colorful, the people looked friendly; the few parts that she saw from the forest were unemotional, almost like dead. Shook her head and kept looking without doubting. The houses still looked colorful, but when she saw people, some of them were unnerving.  She was getting flustered, but her phone noticing her about a message immediately made her refocus. It was Renata saying 'You like what you see? I can show ya more if you want~', with a badly taken picture from her newest tattoo.

While answering, Samantha then received a lot of messages from Ayaka.

'Sam chan'

'Leandra took a pic from the forest a while heading home'

'Sent it to me, because they know I know a bit of photography.'

'Picture was okay, but then I noted this'

A picture from the forest was there, with mist as usual during that time of the year.

'Why dark areas look so unfitting?'

'Told me also they felt stare sensation after picture'
