After filling her cup with Hubert's coffee, and looking were she and Renata can sit; Samantha sat down and drank. It was bitter and with a herbal flavor on it. She almost spit it. Her grandpa just laughed.

"I know you dislike it, but this night is quite necessary", he said while showing a calm smile. "Right now, we are still being hunted by the creatures. The only thing that hide us is the dreamcatchers I've placed on certain areas to completely hide it. The pattern of the strings distorts the sound on their ears; as well the wood and feathers used, to confuse the smell. Right now they can only perceive here as a lifeless box. A place without anything that can fills the hunger".

He sipped his coffee and then continued while looking the windows subtly.

"Nevertheless, the cloak will weaken once we entered the darkest hour. It's the moment the creatures get hungrier and desperate. Mostly because is the signal the hunt is getting to close to the end. They'll be getting closer to the windows, to the doors. If they find even a small prey, they'll take it. And I can see through your eyes that you know how they hunt and how aggressive can be."

"So, the best during that moment is to keep moving...got it, gramps.", Renata said. "But...how might be tomorrow? I mean, they're eating right now...and we know what they eat."

Hubert breathed deeply.

"Once the light shatters the dark sky, they'll be leaving with the supplies they've got. There'll be no body, but debrii. Some disappearances are because those creatures. That's why some people learned how to protect themselves and the ones they cared. Yet, they're relentless.", Hubert continued while looking the moon getting covered by clouds. "Our best chance is to have a plan and keep moving ourselves until the sunrise."

"So...dad...dad's body won't...won't be buried...", Val murmured nervously. "It's just...not fair...it's not fucking fair...I know complaining will do nothing...but...", she groaned and then tried to calmed herself. "At this point I'll try to survive as far as possible, but I'll be a pain in their ass if they catch me."

"Won't be only you, sister. They took our father, I won't simply let them go and feast with us.", Mauri added while laying his hand on the pink haired girl, who smiled thanking him. "But he would tried his best to keep us alive...for his name, let's keep ourselves that way".

Samantha then stood up and went to her room once more. She left quickly and came back, with the book grandma gifted.

"She made it to protect me, right, gramps?" she asked while Hubert noded. "I barely read it because I don't believe magic and mysticysm. That didn't keep her alive...but I guess there's science beneath all this magic veil. Maybe something to help us..."

She opened, and started to look page by page. Rheagan got really curious and moved slowly but more and more close. Until Renata blocked her.

"Sorry, trad goth, but you're suspiciously interested on the book", the bleached haired replied.

"She wants to know what my grandma wrote. But, due my grandma's coven, she's forbidden to read it", Samantha said without looking the blue haired lady. "Something about being on the wrong hands..."

"Just for a tattoo on my arm...", Rheagan clarified while rolleing  up her sleeve to expose a chaos magic symbol tattoed on her arm."I guess the coven has a dumb idea about this...Samantha Mason, please control your now-official girlfriend".

Renata didn't waited or asked and started inspecting the tattoo.

"It's a good tattoo...The technique applied here to make a gradiation, and the clean of the lines, are flawless. Even the chosen color is perfect for the skin tone. Amazing! Who made it? The details tell me Christie, but the lines remind me Johnny's..." she was pretty absorted on the goth's tattoo.

"Renata, please release my fiend. She needs the arm", the girl with glasses said while Renata simply agreed. The ladu with glasses was sublty smiling while Rheagan sighed

While looking the pages, an envelope appear. Samantha opened it and saw a necklace with a dreamcatcher and a note saying For your protection, Hildi. The girl with black hair, without thinking twice, put it immediately, replacing the old one.

"This was grandma's necklace. She gave it to me. I thought she lost it due her...her sickness. But, she saved it. I don't care if people think I'm hypocrite or anything, I'll be using it for her memory. besides, mine was from an outlet store..."

"She'll be glad to know you like it", Hubert said.

"May I try it?", Ayaka asked, before getting held by Rheagan.

"Even when I also want to have that talisman, I believed is Samantha's moment. You should ask her later", the blue haired suggested.

"But I want it noooow", the green haired one replied, but accepted at the end.

For a moment, all the hunted could rest a moment. Rob was still unconscious, but breathing calmly. It was a moment giving everyone a bit of hope.

An hour passed, and some of them were trying to take a rest. Leandra was close to Rob, to see if he could get awake. Ayaka was quite active due her habit and insomnia. Samantha went to her dorm,  still looking for  any solution on the book. Renata was reading an artist magazine she has on her phone.

Samantha almost finished her beverage while still looking that book. There was nothing she could use as a guide. She was arguing with the air part of the time about the absence of an index. Her girlfriend just supported her. Half an hour later, she finally found something.

"Found something, my dear, sadly I can't translate it"

Renata left her phone and went to see the book. There was a drawing about the creature, but it was on a different language.

"This ain't spanish or portugese...I see even weird letters...what language is?", Renata asked.

"The fuck I know...at least she wrote about them...and here's a 7...", the girl with glasses noted. "Could be the total that they usually hunt?"

"So there are 4 left...", Renata added while hugging her loved one. "We just now need to hold all this shit, so you can translate the book and-"

A tip on the window interrupted them. Both looked up there nervously. They noted a hauntsmen looking through, closing its head, and tipping the glass with hard bone that shown once it had a nose. They slowly managed to get out of there and closed the door as silent as possible.

"That...Does that...just?", Samantha barely said.

Hubert lied down his hand on the black haired shoulder and murmured:

"They're aware."
