The Moment

Night was a hellish moment for her. Barely slept after the sensation. And the morning had a momentary refresh for her. She opened her window to feel the early breeze and the warmth from the sun. Her face was smiling the moment her skin started feeling that sensation. But, once she turned her sight to the forest, the sensation came back. Weak, but still feeling that.

Why, in all the fucking world, I still feeling that? Guess horror movies will be a 'no' for a while, she thought while starting her day. Trying to not to think about the forest, she tried to be focused on her usual morning.

Still on her pijamas, she went straight to the kitchen and took some pancakes her grandad made.

"Morning, sleepy head", were his words while smiling.

"Mornin'" she answered while eating the pancakes with her hands.

"You seem to had a bad night. Bad dreams?", he said while serving himself a cup of coffee.

"Kinda. I think I've suggested myself with a lot of B-rated movies...felt the forest was like, watching me.", she said while taking an orange juice from the fridge and served it on a recently cleaned glass. "Just like grandma said once..."

The smile on her grandad disappeared momentarily. Samantha knew grandma was still a sensitive subject.

"Sorry, grandpa. I know you miss her a lot...", was saying her while hugging the old man who just hugged her back.

"Forty years together can't be easily forgotten. She was a great woman until the end. The moment you came here, she just opened the doors to you, without any question. Your face that day, and your face today, showed me how much she really loved you.", he said, slightly emotional, while releasing her.

"Ya know, you too love me. You opened the door for a weird girl.", she replied, with a bad try to soothe the moment.

"A good girl appeared, being rejected to those we believed were noble. Yet, they at least gave us a great grandchild."

Samantha started to laugh. Her emotions were so high that she just laughed happily. Look her phone and then hurried herself up to be on time for a meeting.

She went fast to a sidewalk, put her headphones and started to hear music while waiting. Humming her songs, suddenly felt again that feeling, always from the same spot. Even with her home hiding her from the 'sight', she was feeling that, somehow, it was moving, just to look at her.

She was getting nervous, and started to shake while her hand started to cover her breasts. She heard a van honk and saw a familiar hand. She answered back, feeling how that feeling once more faded slowly.

A white dyed haired girl, with piercings under her lips and a urban style opened the back door and make the gesture to get in

"Come on Samantha, gurl. Or you wanna make me wait?"

She smiled and went inside while feeling safe momentarily.
