Chapter 14 - from Viper to Cobra pt.2

The door slammed behind me; I pushed the guards away as I slammed my hands onto the door. Vendetta couldn't take the jailer alone. I felt a tear drop down my face as the guards drug me from the door. I struggled to get back when the explosion happened. The door didn't blow open, but it was damaged badly; Demons close by were scorched and others were pushed back and laid out on the floor concussed. The rest were surrounding the area. I fell to my knees, several tears flowing down my mask as I realized what had truly happened. Project vendetta knew he couldn't beat the jailer, he killed himself and the jailer as a sacrifice to our cause. The guards that survived the blast didn't immediately swarm me. I had cupped my hands together as only two guards picked me up carefully. Although they worked for the imperial army, they weren't evil. They had tried to cough up an apology for the incident.

I shocked the entire jail to the core after my first words were spoken: "Devil technique," the whisper of blood hungry devils came from my mouth, two jagged horns sprouted from my forehead. Hot liquid energy flowed down my eye sockets into a single claw mark of three fingers, my finger sharpened at the tips and my voice twisted with the voices of all those I killed. The final part to the chant was a technique that I had no clue of but suddenly appeared in my mind "Undead lullaby, power six" after the last voice echoed the chant my vein lit up with boiling rage. A massive surge of energy exploded from my body and killed everybody on impact within a fifty-foot radius. I burned the cuffs from my wrists as I limped toward the exit, any and all living things around me that could be sensed had a large spike impaled through their chests. Like a plague I was avoided by enemies, and the innocent. I felt all emotions dull except for rage. Vendetta was disintegrated, I had lost another member of the creed close to me. I traveled back to the Founder's abandoned castle. The lullaby had ceased two districts back, but my devil form hadn't faded. Casper's eyes changed to blue, just from my aura she could tell what happened. I couldn't help but look at her and cry, she held me as tight as she could. Vendetta was like a child to her, she spent most of her time with him when I wasn't around. She needed his help when Melena died, Casper had a large piece of her taken that day.

When the crying stopped, we had to report our findings and losses to David. We traveled back to the first district and back to Onegai. At the homestead David was spotted at the porch. He had his hands over his mouth and patiently waited for us. We approached him, he too could tell the horrors that we discovered in hell. He clenched his fists and dented the wooden railing closest to him. He screamed in agony as Vendetta was no different than a brother of his. I couldn't help but cry again, we lost Melena and Vendetta in just under a year. Eventually we all sat on the porch, there were five of us; Today makes three. Casper revealed that in the office she found that Judy Calmer was one of the Founder's generals. I mentioned that with the deaths Vendetta caused there are only two generals left. The three of us built Vendetta's grave next to Melena's and returned to the house. We slept through the night and decided that it's now or never that the assassination of Judy Calmer happens today. We geared up and stood in front of the house, together David and Casper said how they weren't coming back to this house. I stayed quiet and held my right hand under my left, I formed a ball of ethier and casted the technique "Devil technique, domain traversal." I threw my hands to my sides and in the blink of an eye we all landed in hell's first district. We knew everything we needed, Judy Calmer will die today, and David formed the perfect plan.

With the help of Vendetta's sacrifice and Casper's knowledge we know that Calmer is the general closest to the Founder, she consistently has a pattern of leaving the domain when in grave danger. Throughout our battles we know that Calmer isn't versatile but powerful one on one. The external factors are the imperial and rebel war, both sides understand who we are and with the previous actions aren't likely to aid us in this mission. We will use the war to our advantage, the rebels can't aid us, but they can distract us. They can go all out and siege the Founder's second general; we will use this distraction to sneak by and slaughter Judy Calmer. Casper will be on domain control; her domain abilities exceed Calmer's in most ways. David is the offensive while I act as the defensive force. The three of us traveled to the rebel camp first, we riled up each demon to prepare them for the suicide mission. With the first move in place, we all gathered the army to the foot of the castle. One battle cry after another the rebel army charged toward the castle. The powerful rebels in front with the weaker ends placed as distraction teams. Through the thick of the action the first general made his appearance, he was a rare type of technique. The general used Frager technique, a combination of fire type, shocker type, and radial type. He shouted out "Devil technique, Frager type! Dispersing blow!" The rebel distraction teams were hit first. Explosions and fire separated every single fireteam. Casper notified us about radial types, she explained carefully how counterattacking radial types is difficult without proper cooperation. David synced up with me and explained how he will draw the fire from the general, my role is to hit him with every devil technique I know. Casper formed up behind us and added that she will dim his abilities with her domain control. David nodded and jumped in front of the general. His sword gave off a blinding glare as he engaged in heated combat at lightning speed. Casper kept herself perched on a nearby tree branch "Devil technique" I whispered out as I methodically walked to the target. Casper honed her sight onto the general and slammed her hand onto the trunk "Energy zapper!" she expanded a pool of ethier below the general. I drew my sword and spun the hilt in my palm as I finished the chant "fire dragon power level five" I charged toward the general and slashed back and forth. The general struggled to keep me off, David kept the pressure on him by closing the openings to attack. Within minutes the Frager had to run, or he would perish soon. According to the plan he fled, Casper waited for this moment. He took one step outside of the Ethier pool and his whole leg was severed then cauterized. Casper leaped from the branch and held her right forearm upright "Devil technique" The general crawled backward, as he got closer to us, David stomped on his neck. Casper waited at the edge of the circle, and I stabbed my wrist blade through his torso and severing his spinal cord.
