the sound of chalk scratching against the blackboard filled the room, but heeseung's mind was miles away, fixated on the empty seat next to him. yuwon's seat. empty.
She never missed class—ever.
If she wasn't there, something was definitely off.where is she?
heeseung huffed, his fingers drumming lightly on his desk.
class was boring without yuwon there to annoy.yuwon was like clockwork—always punctual, always prepared. her absence gnawed at him until finally, he couldn't take it anymore. with a glance at the professor, who was far too engrossed in his lecture to care, heeseung gathered his stuff, slung his bag over his shoulder, and slipped out the door.
he had no real plan except to find yuwon. Maybe she was in the library—she basically lived there. he wandered across campus, weaving through groups of students until he pushed open the library doors.
sure enough, he found her tucked away in a quiet corner, headphones on, nose deep in a textbook that was bigger than her head, oblivious to the world. typical. heeseung smirked, slipping quietly behind her.
time to have some fun.he leaned down, close to her ear, biting back a laugh. she was still blissfully unaware of his presence "skipping class?" he whispered, making yuwon jump, almost knocking her coffee over as she yanked out her earbuds. "heeseung! what the—when did you get here?" her eyes were wide with surprise, but heeseung only grinned, clearly satisfied with himself after successfully scaring her.
"just now," he replied, taking the seat beside her. "figured I'd come looking for you since you disappeared." yuwon blinked, still recovering from the sudden scare, trying to regain her composure. "i didn't disappear. i just... wasn't feeling it today."
heeseung's brow lifted, leaning back in his chair. "not feeling it? that's not the yuwon i know." he smiles smugly, leaning closer to her. "so you're skipping huh? that's new"
"and you're also skipping, not new" she pointed out and sighed, rubbing her temples. "i'm just tired today. i didn't feel up to it." heeseung hummed, twirling a strand of her black hair around his finger. he always had that stupid boyish smile on his face, yuwon didn't know if she wanted to kiss him or punch him. "i came looking specifically for you"
yuwon scoffed lightly. what an honor. "you? since when do you care?" heeseung leaned back in his chair, the smirk on his face growing wider as he stretched out lazily, crossing his arms behind his head. "oh, i always care," he said, eyes twinkling mischievously. "you're just too busy being a goody two-shoes to notice."
yuwon rolled her eyes, the corner of her mouth twitching as she tried to suppress a smile. oh god this man. "right, because nothing says 'caring' like skipping class just to annoy me."
