yuwon blinked, her brow furrowing as riki's words sank in.
"come again?" she asked, confusion tightening her voice. she leaned slightly forward, like she hadn't heard right, or maybe she just didn't want to hear it, and she could see the teasing flicker in riki's eyes, and she didn't like it one bit. their teasing had gotten out of hand lately.

"i said, wanna exchange roommates? i really wanna room with my girlfriend." he paused, the playful smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "you and hee can stay together" riki finished, his voice so casual that it almost made the words seem reasonable. almost.

the heat crept up yuwon's neck, warmth blooming in her cheeks as she processed the absurdity of it. "absolutely not" she snapped, her voice ringing out a little louder than she intended. she swallowed, composing herself quickly. "that's inappropriate. and if the teacher finds out, we'll be in massive trouble." she spoke with a finality that she hoped would shut the conversation down for good, her arms crossing tightly over her chest as if that could physically block the idea from coming any closer.

she sat with him in class, and never heard the end of it.
what was going to be of her poor ears if— she shook her head to herself. this was scandalous, preposterous and wrong.
by no manner of means she was going to share a room with lee heeseung, no no, not for all the tea in china.

but riki was relentless, firmly placing an arm around her shoulders and pulling her closer like a stubborn brother would. "c'monnnn" he dragged out the word, his tone laced with that same playful persistence that she found both infuriating and impossible to ignore. "don't be an ass, yuwon. for a week—you won't die. besides. . ." his eyes gleamed with mischief. "i'm sure you and heeseung won't bother each other." the slow, suggestive tilt of his grin said he knew exactly what kind of teasing yuwon had been subjected to ever since she and heeseung had been paired together in class.

she could feel the blush creeping up her skin, her fingers curling around the hem of her sweater in frustration. "riki, no. maybe when hell freezes over" she huffed, voice tightening as she tried to keep her composure. "this is a terrible idea."

but just as she started to argue more, a familiar voice cut through her thoughts, her eye twitched she heard what left his mouth. "of course we can exchange roommates."
now yuwon knew she liked heeseung better when he didn't talk.

yuwon turned to see heeseung, leaning casually against the doorway like he had all the time in the world. his tall frame filled the small space, his eyes gleaming with amusement, he'd been listening to the entire conversation and it had clearly piqued his interest. and the way he said it, like it was the most obvious thing in the world—made yuwon's stomach twist with irritation.

before she could react, before she could even think of another protest, heeseung moved. with one swift motion, he was at her side, grabbing her waist and hoisting her up like she weighed nothing more than a pillow. "heeseung! what the—put me down you moron!" yuwon shrieked, her voice a high-pitched mix of disbelief and outrage, her hands instinctively gripping the back of his shirt as he slung her over his shoulder with ease.
