morning light slips through the curtains, soft and golden, painting the room in a warm, drowsy glow. heeseung and yuwon are still tangled together under the sheets, lying in that comfortable silence that only two people who truly know each other can share. heeseung's arm is draped around yuwon, holding her close, as if even in sleep he's afraid to let go. her head rests against his chest, rising and falling with the rhythm of his breathing, her hand absently tracing small circles over his heart.

she feels the steady beat beneath her fingers, each thump grounding her, each pulse a reminder of the night they spent weaving together in hushed whispers and lingering touches. and now, in the quiet dawn, it's as if the whole world has melted away, leaving just the two of them in this warmth, tangled in sheets and each other.

heeseung stirs, a soft groan escaping his lips as he shifts, a slight wince crossing his face. yuwon's eyes flicker open, immediately picking up on the hint of discomfort in his expression. her hand stills, and she looks up, brows knitting in gentle concern.

"you okay?" she murmurs, her voice still soft and rough from sleep.

he lets out a sleepy chuckle, brushing his fingers along her arm. "yeah. . . just a little sore. nothing serious," he mumbles, trying to downplay it, but the tenderness in her gaze makes his heart stumble.

without a word, she lifts herself slightly, propping her head up on her hand as she watches him with that mix of affection and exasperation that only she can pull off. her free hand reaches over to brush a stray lock of hair from his forehead, her fingers lingering just a little longer than they need to, tracing a slow, soothing line down his cheek.

"don't try to act tough," she teases softly, but there's warmth in her words, a depth that lingers in the air between them. "you can let me take care of you, you know."

heeseung's gaze softens, and he reaches up, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, his fingers grazing her cheek as he does. "if it means staying like this" he murmurs, his voice barely above a whisper, "then. . .  i'll let you take care of me all you want."

the words settle between them, heavy and sweet, making her cheeks flush, though she keeps her composure, managing a small smile. she leans down, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead, then his cheek, her lips barely brushing his skin, feather-light and tender. "lucky for you, i'm skipping school today" she murmurs against his cheek, her voice low, laced with something softer, something only he gets to see.

his eyes flicker open a bit more, a hint of surprise crossing his face. "you? skipping school?" he teases, his grin widening as he shifts slightly, wincing a bit but still pulling her closer. "didn't know you had it in you, nerd."

she scoffs, rolling her eyes even as she curls up against him, letting his arm settle around her. "don't make me regret it" she mutters, but there's no real bite to her words. if anything, she's smiling, the kind of small, contented smile that only he ever seems to coax out of her.
