Y/n

Not even unicorns could help her with her feelings.

Y/n paced back and forth while Seulgi sat in the corner and watched the entire event. It had been less than twenty-four hours since her lips played footsie with Jimin's tongue, but ever since, she hadn't stopped thinking about it. She hadn't stopped thinking about the way he held her, how his warmth seeped through her, how his hand placement was truly king status. Nothing could stop her distracted state, not even Seulgi's simping for Markiplier.

However, that wasn't why Seulgi was there. It wasn't to distract Y/n or take her mind away from Dior's fat-assed prince. No, Seulgi was there to give Y/n "advice" about what to do. The truth was, Y/n was terrified. As much as she liked Jimin and wanted a relationship with him, she had to admit it had been a while since she fell for someone, and she had never fallen for someone in that way.

She kissed Park Jimin. Park Ji-fucking-min. Emphasis on fucking. That man was a menace to society, and y'know what? He knew it. He knew he was damn hot, and he used that against her to make her fluster. The worst part? It worked. That was why Y/n was such a mess and needed her best friend.

Seulgi watched her pace without saying anything. Y/n gained the willpower to stop and plop on her bed, groaning and punching air before rolling around to bury her head in her pillow. Any sound she made came out muffled thanks to the redirection of her mouth. She ended up drooling on the pillows since she didn't have the effort to keep her lips shut.

"So... you kissed him?" Seulgi asked, tapping her fingers on her knees as she sat in her designated spot in the corner. She asked in a voice that wasn't loud, but it wasn't soft, either. It was more matter-of-fact, which was what the situation called for.

"What do you think?" Meanwhile, Y/n's voice sounded like an alien's if it had snorted cocaine and strip danced for three hours straight. "And I liked it. A lot."

"Well, obviously. Otherwise you wouldn't be going through the five stages of grief right now."

A true kiss would leave you speechless and questioning your life decisions, and that was what Y/n was going through at that moment. All she felt was Jimin's lips on hers despite how it had been almost twenty-four hours since then. How did one person leave such an impact on her? It was like he smiled and then BAM, Y/n was in love. What the actual hell, bro? She was supposed to be the one friend in her group that didn't simp, yet there she was. Seulgi, the damn aromantic, simped more than Y/n. What. The. Frick.

"Why don't you text him?" Seulgi asked, and Y/n snapped up at that with wide eyes.

"Text him? After... that? I can't do that, can I? He needs to text me first, right?"

"Dude, you're in love. You can't even process the kiss almost a day after."

Okay, that was an unnecessary call out, and Y/n chose to ignore that!

"But." Y/n paused to raise her index finger. "He needs to text me. It's his job since he was the one who leaned in first, so he has to acknowledge it first. Them's the rules. Sorry, I don't make them."

"Y/n," Seulgi said, her tone softer than before. "Just text him. It'll make you feel better. I don't know why you're so worked up, but he likes you. Isn't that a good thing?"

"Too good of a thing." Y/n didn't mean to blurt it out like that, and when she did, she sighed and placed both her hands on her head. "He's amazing, Seul. How could I ever deserve someone like him? Why is he interested in me?"

"Maybe because you're pretty amazing too. Who wouldn't love you with all your unicorns and charm, huh? You have more personality than most people I know, and that's why you're my best friend. Is it so hard to believe someone's interested in you because you're pretty and funny?"

"Yes," Y/n answered without hesitation before sinking back in her bed and grabbing her phone, opening her chat with Jimin and staring at it. They hadn't texted since that night, and she did the back and forth thumb motion over her keyboard as she attempted to figure out what to say. "I just... it's scary, y'know? I don't want to mess this up. He's a good guy, and he deserves the best."

"Don't you think he's thinking the same thing?"

Touché. Seulgi - 1. Y/n - 0.

"Yeah, you're right." Y/n grunted at her overthinking and decided to text before she could give herself a chance to ruin it any further. She typed out three simple words that could convey all her thoughts, and as much as she hesitated, she eventually hit send.

Me: I miss you

She resisted the urge to throw the phone across the room. Frustration bubbled inside her, and Seulgi came over and rubbed her back. Y/n adored Jimin, so it wasn't him or anything he did. The kiss was like something out of a fantasy, so it wasn't that either. It was more her insecurities telling her a man like Jimin would never bother looking in her direction, yet there he was, looking and not only that, but looking closely. He cared more than most, and that had her trembling.

Overstepping was another fear of hers. They had just begun a beautiful friendship that would blossom into a relationship, if it went right. Was she going too fast by saying those sweet things and-

'Ding!'

She hadn't noticed that Jimin was online, and that had her stiffening. Seulgi encouraged her to open the text, and when she did, all her worries slipped away and was replaced by a grin when she saw what he said.
