They get to the restaurant before her parents so they just wait for them to show up. "You're the most dressed up, you know that." Dani laughs at Chris as they sit next to each other.

"I wanna make a good impression." He messes with his hands, "Did I over dress?" He starts to get worried.

"I've never seen you act like this before."

"Well, I want your parents to like us and now you say I'm over dressed for dinner. Maybe we can go home and make it back in time so I can change." He rants.

"Chris, you look fine. It's just you're more dressed for like a fancy dinner date but you look okay still." She tries to calm him down. "Guys, I'm gonna take Chris outside because he has a panic attack." She tells the other two and grabs Chris to take him outside for some air.

Once outside he paces around a bit taking big breaths mumbling to himself while Dani watches him. "Can you do me a favor and pace in the sidewalk and not in the street?" She grabs his arm pulling him onto the side walk.

"I'm sorry."

"You're acting like Matt did earlier but worse." She lets him know before she sees her parents, "you finally made it." She jokes with them.

"Your father can't tell time." Her mom hugs her, "Chris, you look great." She then smiles at Chris.

"See." Dani nudges him. "We're still waiting for a table for our group." Dani lets her parents know as the four walk to go inside.

Nick and Matt move from the bench so her parents could sit and wait. Automatically her mom notices how Dani and Matt sorta matched and it made her curious. Growing up Dani never once talked to her mom about boys she liked so she wonder if Dani liked Matt.

"Your mom is looking at us." Matt whispers to Dani.

"She stares at a lot of people. Don't worry about it." She pats his back giving him a gentle smile.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom before we get our table." Matt leaves the group.

"Dani, can I ask you something?" Chris pulls her closer to him.

"If you're still worried about how you look...then no." She laughs.

"No, umm, how do I go about this?" He thinks, "I was wondering if you wanted to go to dinner tomorrow?" He asks her.

Nick quickly looks up from his phone hearing him and he wasn't the only one because her parents heard him too.

Dani looks at him slightly confused not thinking he was asking her out and she completely forgot what Nick told her.

"I mean like with just us." He adds and it finally hits her.

Her eyes wonder over to the three that were silently watching her, "I was gonna make plans to eat with just my parents tomorrow night." She tries to avoid it.

"How about lunch?"

"Chris..." She steps closer to him.

"If you can't do lunch we can always make a date for when your parents leave so you can spend time with them."

"Christopher..." She whispers.

"If you need a free day we completely get it." Her dad speaks up so they both look over at him.

Dani didn't know what to do and Nick sees she was trying not to panic with everyone looking at her, "Excuse me." She walks towards the exit as Matt comes back confused as Chris goes after her.

"Did you have to say something, honey? It's obvious she doesn't want to." Her mom slaps his arm.

"What?" Matt asks confused so Nick gets up walking over to him.

"Chris asked Dani out."

"He actually did it?" Matt's eyes widened.

Outside it was Dani's turn to pace around trying to breathe, "Dani, how about you get in the sidewalk now?" Chris tells her so she walks over to him.

"Is that why you got really dressed up? You wanted I look good for my parents so you could as me on a date?"

"Sorta. It's just, Dani... With getting to know you I kinda developed a crush on you." He explains and sees how she looked at him, "But obviously you don't feel the same."

"Chris, I like you but I don't like you like that." She sits in the curb so he sits next to her, "I did at some point in the past but then I realized I liked you more as a friend once we got even closer." She looks at him, "I'm sorry."

"It's okay. I should've tried earlier but I was more scared than now." He laughs.

"This isn't gonna make us weird now is it?" She asks him.

"Nah, it's no hard feelings and I get over being turned down easily." He nudges her, "You're still my friend though, right?"

"You're stuck with me because I'm your parent's favorite child." She smiles so he slaps her knee before getting up and helping her up.

When they join the others they get their table and no one brings up him asking her out which they were thankful for. After dinner they all chat outside a bit and before Dani could leave with the boys her mom stops her.

"You like Matt don't you?" Dani looks at her mom, "I can see you two are the closest. You two even matched tonight."

"Well, he didn't know what to wear so I picked it out for him."

"So you really do like him." She smiles.

"I do but I'm not ever letting him know. I can't lose him as a friend." Dani explains.

"You told Chris no. And you two seemed fine coming back in."

"Chris and I are completely different from Matt and I, Mom. I'll see you tomorrow." Dani hugs her then leaves.

At home after everyone was ready for bed Nick decided to check in on Dani to see if she was good. She tells him everything and that her and Chris were on good terms.

"So no awkwardness?"

"There shouldn't be but there might be a bit but who knows." She cuddles her pillow, "If there is hopefully it's not too long."

"And if it was Matt who asked?" Nick was curious.

"No, no, no." She points her finger at him sitting up all the way, "We are not going to do that. You are going to forget I ever liked him as well. That is done for because I'm not risking it. If turned down Chris then Matt will turn me down."

"Okay, sorry. Forget I asked." He puts his hands up in defense.
