64 | Birthday pt.2

As soon as Dani walked out the front door she just kept walking till she found herself at a park and sat down on a bench. She was frustrated with how Matt was acting and what reasonable explanation would he have for acting like that.

"Mind if I sit here?" She hears Chris voice so she looks over at him.

"Take a seat. It's reserved for those who are annoyed with Matthew Sturniolo." She looks away so he takes a seat next to her.

"I don't understand him..." He sighs.

"Me neither."

"I hate that you actually did it anyways. You should have just left the room." He tells her.

"Well if he was testing us I did it to piss him off but obviously he wasn't since he didn't react badly." She explains then looks at him, "I'm sorry."

"It's okay." He lets her know and they both look out at the packed park, "They're nice by the way." He speaks up after a moment of silence, "Now that I got a better look." He adds making her laugh.

"Thanks, Happy Birthday."

"Today will be the craziest birthday in history of birthdays for me." He adds, "I get traumatized, I get whiplash from a wild suggestion my brother says, and then get flashed by my best friend, who I used to have a thing for in the past."

"And that's why I didn't want to do that. It was a bad moment for us. It made us awkward for a while and I don't wanna go through that again."

"Don't worry, I don't have feelings for you anymore. So you aren't that special, sorry" He starts to joke around with her.

Dani can't help but laugh, "Wow, I was hoping you would suffer till death." She jokes with him.

"You want to suffer watching you and Matt together? You are heartless, Danielle." He playfully shoves her.

"I love you, you big idiot." She leans into his side.

"I love you too, you little nugget." He rests his head on top of hers, "When is a good time to go back so he knows how mad we are with him?"

"10 or 20 more minutes." They both laugh, "Hopefully, my birthday goes better." Dani sighs.

"It will, trust me. You have our parents on your side." Chris laughs, "Matt will be kissing your ass for the next few days." He makes her laugh.

"I need his reason to be amazing for how he's acting today. If it's not good..." She shakes her head.

"Wait, are you thinking about breaking up with him over this?" Chris asks him.

"No, no." She tells him, "I meant it more like it's gonna be hard to move past it. That would be a dumb reason to break up up, right?" She asks.

"You're basically asking me if I was you what would I do? Break up or forgive him and how long to be mad?" He says so Dani just stares at him, "I say be mad till he gives a good reason and apologizes. If not, make him work for it." He tells her, "What would it take for you to break up with him?"

Dani thinks, "Cheating is number one. Two, falling out of love with him. Three, makes me think about things a lot." She answers.

"This is the first time you've had to think, right?" He gives her a look.

"Yes, this is the first time so I don't see us breaking up over this." She laughs.

"I don't see you two ever breaking up. Plus you two are way too perfect and need this little bump." He tells her truthfully, "You two were way too sweet."

Dani laughs grabbing his face giving him kisses all over his face, "What would I do without you? I need my number one Datt fan and hater." She laughs.

"Damn right. Let's go." He jumps up putting his hand out to her.
