I walked into my apartment with buterflies in my stomach. I hopped in the shower thinking all about everything going on, what I needed to do, and things like that. I got out and wrapped my towel around me and I heard a knock at my door. I went to see who it was, and it turned out to be Grace. "Hey Gracie, feeling any better?" I asked
"I'm feeling so much better, but I have been kind of compelled to my house lately." she said
"How about we go for a girls night out?" I asked excitedly
"Thats what I was already planning! But I am not drinking tonight."
We got dressed and did our hair and makeup. Once we thought we looked good, we grabbed some cash and went bowling. The place that we went to was styled like the 40's. It was our favorite place to go as kids. We arrived and grabbed our shoes and picked a table. "We really needed this!" I said over the music
"I know right! We hardly get time hang out with just us!" she agreed
We played for a few hours when I felt someone watching us. I turned to try and figure out who it was. I saw a group of men laughing and staring at Grace and I. I walked back to our table to see Grace was noticing what is going on. "Do you see those guys over there?" she asked me
"I was just about to ask you the same thing!" I said
"She looked at them and looked back at me, "Lets just ignore them and enjoy our time."
We played for about an hour or so when we decided it was time to leave. We walked out and chatted and laughed as we heard another door shut behind us. I looked back and was the group that was watching us earlier. We walked a little bit faster to the car. I opened the car door when I felt someone hold my waist behind me. I turned to see who it was and it was one of the guys from the table. The same thing was happening to Grace and the rest of them were surrounding the car.
I started to panic, "Let go of me!"
"Why end the party now little lady?" he said quietly
I screamed to get the attention of a nearby group and they looked. The man put his hand over my mouth. He told me to be quiet and I begged him not to hurt Grace. She screamed and the other man hit her again and again. I cried and sobbed and I asked him to hit me instead. Then I saw Masyn walking with a group of friends and I yelled, "Masyn help me please!" I saw him walk our way and into a sprint because he saw Grace and I.
He pushed through the group, and he saw the man that was holding me down. They held him back and made him watch me being hit. He finally broke through their grip and got to the man holding me down. Masyn hit him over and over again. I ran to Grace and the rest of the group ran off. "Grace are you ok?" I asked sobbing
"I'm fine baby." she said through tears
I set her head down gently and ran to Masyn. He was still hitting the man that hurt me. I pulled him off and the man got away. He laid his head on my chest and sobbed. We called an ambulence for Grace and I. It pulled up and took Grace on a gurney. Masyn and I got into the ambulence and I held Graces hand the entire way.
*GRACE'S POV*
I laid in the hospital when Justin burst through the doors. He shut the door behind him and I saw his face was red. He walked slowly up to the chair next to me and sat down. He gently lifted my hand and looked at me with tears running down his face. I lifted my hand and touched his face. He looked into my eyes and said, "I am sorry that I couldn't save you baby."
He layed his head on my chest and I said, "You're here now, and that is all that matters."
