♡ Alice's POV ♡
At the Sherrif station.
I paced outside of the jail cell as they held Ben prisoner.
He was found at at the crim scene.
Maybe he was drunk.
Maybe he was framed.
No proff.
"Alice, what happened-" I heard Liz start to ask as she walked into the station.
I pointed behind me to my best friend sitting in a jail cell.
"I didn't do anything!" Ben said.
Then, I heard the door open again.
"Ben, don't say anything. I know you have been framed. Just remember not to say anything. They are listening-" I heard Lisa lecture.
I felt a hand on my lower back that shot goose bumps up my spine.
"What happened?" I heard Kol ask.
"I didn't do any-"
"No talking!!" Lisa inturrpted Ben.
"Kol, didn't you tell me you went to law school?" I asked.
"You went to law school?" Ben asked.
I spun around to face my vampire boyfriend. He thought about it and nodded.
"All I can say is that we need to get his facts straight and they have to be-"
"Real creative?" Ben asked.
"Truthful." Kol said.
"Kill joy." Lisa muttered.
In the Sherrif office.
I tried to steady my heart beat as we waited for the Sherrif.
Kol must have heard my heart beat 'cause he held my hand kissed my knuckles.
The Sherrif walked into the room with a folder and clipboard.
She smiled and cleared her throat.
"Alright, I'm just going to need to ask a few questions. I need Alice Waters and Kol Olson to come with me." Sherrif Redden said.
I held Kol's hand as we followed the Sherrif.
We walked into her office. It had awards on the walls, filling cabinets and funny posters.
We sat in the two comfy chairs behind her desk.
Sherrif Redden sat in her spiny chair and gave Kol a small glare.
"Alright Ms. Waters, how did you know the exact place of the crime scene?" She asked.
Uh oh.
Busted. My brain said.
Shut up.
"Well, I knew that Ben woupd be getting home around then and that's the way to his house." I said giving her a confused look.
I'm innocent.
"Ok, did you have any contact with Mr. Randy in the past few hours?" She asked.
"No." I said.
"Alright Mr. Olson, these items were found in your house after the incident." She said pulling out a bag of... knives..... covered in your a vampire's favorite liquid....
Blood.
I slowly looked over at him and he was looking at the knives with the WTF look.
"Sherrif, can I ask you a few questions?" He asked.
"Well, I guess." She said very confused.
"Did your team search my house for those items?" He asked.
"Yes, we have the right to-"
"Actually, my house sits on the private property of my family. We all know what that means." He said.
His tone scared me a bit and I knew my heart was racing. He rubbed his thumb on my hand.
"Well I apologise, but that doesn't change the fact that these were found on your property." She said getting impatient.
"Well, I have never laid a hand on those weapons nor have a I ever seen them. All the firearms and weapons I own are licensed and listed in your records..... like the agreement."
Well dang.
"So, you claim that these don't belong to you."
"They don't. I hope this doesn't happen again 'cause historical grounds are important to this town, Sherrif." He said.
She gave him a glare before putting the bag on her desk.
"Oh and may I have my coupe I have my dagger back?" He asked.
She opened her drawer and slammed the a dagger down on it. (Pic on the side).
"That was interesting." I said.
