15♤ Bonding time

♤ Alice's POV ♤

I was sitting in the garden, Skylar Grey blasting through my earbuds. The sun was shining, the grass in the field was long and bushy, the trees were green and the lemonade was cold.

I watch the faint rainbow appear in the air as the sprinkler came closer. Just as it was about to spray me, it turned off.

Weird.......

Must be on a timer.

I brought the straw of my lemonade up to my lips, only to feel a nose against mine.

I made a tiny squeak of suprise and snapped my head in the direction of the nose.

Never thought I'd say that.

I giggled when I saw it was only Kol. He grinned at me and his arms snaked around my waist.

"Ello, Love" he said, kissing my cheek.

"So, your gonna call me Love now?" I asked, teasingly.

"What else would I call you? Babe, Honey, Mi chica-?" He started to list.

I cut him off with a peck on the lips.

"Love is fine." I said. He beamed at me and pulled me onto his lap. We leaned closer and all of a sudden I was sat back on the blanket and he was gone.

What the bloody hell was that?!

Stupid vampire speed.

Stupid bipolar-

"Alice!!!" I heard my mother yell as she stepped into the porch.

Ohhhhh.

Did I mention how much I loved my vampire boyfriend?

"Yes?!" I called back.

She took out a picture of a puppy with a birthday hat on, in a frame..... which was covered in numbers.

My bad.

"Well?" She asked.

I bit my lip and shook my head. I know I should feel guilty, but the only reason she was doing this is because the neighbours are watching.

Out if the corner of my eye I saw Martha peering out their window. She was rambling on, while her husband, Kirk mocked her behind her back.

"It's complicated." I said.

"Complicated?! We worry about you-" she started giving me the pity speech!

That was enough to make me snap. 'Cause she was such a good parent.

I saw uncle Raymond peeking through the window.

"No! All you care about is your reputation! You have no idea who I am! Most parents support their daughter! You use me as a pawn in your life!! Setting me up with some kid you don't know so you people will like you guys!!! The only time you talk to me is when I do something wrong in your rule book or when I get a B in class! So no, you don't care!" I seethed.

Mom just stood there shocked. I didn't realise I had gotten up and was crying.

"You really wanna know why I write numbers everywhere?!" I exclaimed.

She started to say something, but I cut her off.

"Maybe 'cause your picture perfect daughter has break downs! Did you know that I have a boyfriend?! That my friend was in jail?!" I questioned.

I saw uncle Raymond give me a sympathetic yet incouraging nod.

My mom finally collected herself and gave me one of those If-you-cause-a-scene-there-will-be-consequences looks.

"Well-" she started, but her phone rang. She immediately dropped everything and answered.

I rolled my eyes.

Uncle Raymond gave me a thumbs up and mouthed 'I'll deal with the she-demon'.

I giggled and nodded, wiping my eyes.

I jump over the hedge in our yard -or as I like to call it 'The embassy'- grabbing my skateboard from its hiding spot and hopping on backwards.

My mom starts yelling after me and I salute her.

My pocket starts to blast Sweater weather by The Neighbourhood.

"She knows what I think about

Nothing that I wouldn't wanna tell you about, no" I smile, knowing whose ring tone it is.

"Hello, this is Jane from state farm." I joked. I heard a low chuckle.

"Hello miss, I know it's sudden, but I was wondering if you'd be my date this evening." I heard Kol say.

"Well, sir I think your a little too old for me." I said, stifling a giggle.

"Well, I heard that you like older vampires. So, what do you say, love? You sound like you could do with some cheering up." He said.

"What do you have in mind?" I asked.

"Well, you'll have to find out. Meet me at the Town square at 8:30pm." He said.

"Alright, love you." I said.

"Love yo-" he started, but I hung up.

What??

I will never be mushy gushy.
