Depression - a weight that anchors me to the darkness
A simple word that belies the anguish
Sleepless nights, eyes empty of emotion, a heart heavy with pain
No one to share the burden, no one to careMy mind is a stormy sea, with waves of despair crashing against the shore
My soul thrives in darkness, consumed by shadows of self-hatred
I'm broken, irreparably damaged, a life unlived
A canvas of sorrow, painted with vibrant colors of painI asked for happiness, but received only despair
A fading light, consumed by the darkness that haunts me
What's left to do, but surrender to the pain?
A shroud that wraps around me, suffocating the lightDays blend together, a never-ending void
I'm lost in a labyrinth of mirrors, with reflections of self-doubt staring back
Unable to find my way, no escape from the maze
A bird with wings clipped, unable to soar above the painI'm a shell of my former self, a corpse devoid of emotions
Haunted by memories, with no escape
Is it better to let go, to fade away?
Or hold on, and suffer in silence?
