Gravity Falls: Opposites Attract

June 29th, 2015 (pt 2)

*Dipper POV*

Ugh. I hate this freaking speech. I mean, I'm honored that Soos made me best man, but god I just cannot think of what to say. I know nothing about love and relationships, so I'm really not the one to be speaking about it in front of a whole room of people. And yet I have to in just 2 weeks. I decide to watch a movie while I think, something that inspires me to think about brotherly love: Newsies. Yes, I'm secretly a theatre kid. It's a fun escape, and Newsies is my favorite.

I have been watching for a while and all I got in my notebook was the ranked songs of newsies. It's so pathetic. I crumple my paper up and throw it at the TV and continue watching. I'm over halfway at this point.

*knock knock*

I look back at the window and see the girl I haven't stopped thinking about in days. I open the window.

"Pacifica??"

"Hey, Dipper." We smile. "Um, I was hoping Mabel would be here."

"Sorry, she's been with Olive all evening."

"Oh, well sorry for disturbing you." She looked really sad and shut down. She went to get off the roof.

"Wait." She turned around. "Why did you come here anyway??"

"My parents." My eyes widened. I was ready to hurt both of them.

"Here, come on in."

"No, I don't want to intrude."

"Nonsense, you'll just have to put up with my musical moment." I helped her into my room.

"What musical??"
"Newsies."

"I LOVE NEWSIES"

"Really??"

"Yes. It's my favorite."

"Wow, that's a bit surprising."

"Why?? Cause I'm upper class??"

"No, cause you're the 1%" She shoves me and we chuckle.

"Honestly, that's why I love it. It's one of the first exposures I've had of other classes. I thought everything about my upbringing was normal, but then I saw this, and it made me realize there was more to life than being a Northwest." I smiled at her. It was such a rich girl revelation, but it was cute. "That's stupid, isn't it??"

"Not at all. It humbled you, and now you're really sweet. I guess Jack Kelly made you, well, you."

"I suppose so, but it's been a lot harder than that. I truly wasn't until you told me it wasn't too late for me to grow. You were the first person who believed in me."

"Well, for what it's worth, you're someone worth believing in."

"So are you."

"What do you mean??"

"You put so much pressure on yourself all the time to be perfect and never wrong, but that's what causes you to mess up. You get too in your head about things when you're so naturally smart." We smile at each other for a moment. How is Pacifica Northwest making me feel this way?? It's because the old Pacifica no longer exists, she became this new one whom I adore.

We decided to sit down and finish the show. We sat there talking and singing along with the show, and right now, 'Something to Believe In' is about to start. Pacifica starts singing along with Katherine and I start singing with Jack. This turned into us basically singing to each other. We became so passionate that I think we both forgot about the world. Once the song ended, we starred for a second, then turned back to the TV. After a while, she laid her head on my shoulder. My heart started beating really quickly, but somehow, I managed to lay my head on hers, and we sat there, watching silly shows and movies all night.
