Ruhanika's POV 🥀
He didn't came home the next day. Neither did next. Neither did it's next.
A week passed and I, too, had my peace for a few days while planning for my next move. Obviously, playing the nice daughter-in-law in between as well.
"Daadu, your medicines." I passed the old man his pills and he gulped it down. Raj Pratap Sehgal is a oldan now, yet the dominating aura he had around himself, makes the person piss in pants.
He smiled and I turned to leave his study. "Ouch" I hissed when I bumped into his Chachu and a few files drops from his hand. "I am sorry."
"Don't be, that okay." I kneeled to pick up the scattered papers and I froze.
Jagjeet Khanna. I picked up the file and read the name on it. Are they in contact with him? Why now?
"Ruhi"
"Huh?" I asked, lost.
" The File." His chachu pointed at the red file in my hand and I passed it to him. "Sorry!"
He smiled warmly and I left the study, not closing the door behind.
"Dad, this...."
"Not now. Come to me after everyone falls asleep." I quickly pasted myself to the wall behind the door and saw him leave.
What is this all about?
**************************************
He took a sip of his drink and put it back to resume reading his file. Anya gave him milk to drink and the Old man poured it into flower pot besides his desk and poured whiskey in the same glass.Right now, as I was keeping an eye on him through the hidden cameras I installed in his study, I could see how much time has changed him. The first time I saw him years ago was when he came to see my sister and insulted her instead and now, years after I was sitting as the wife of his favourite grandson. Back then, he executed pure danger in those dark coloured suits and untrimmed beared. And now, he simply wore kurtas, something that exudes simplicity. Not to mention, never gets up from the wheelchair.
But that doesn't mean one can underestimate Raj Pratap Sehgal. This mansion holds skeletons more than the closets. The secrets lie right in front of you, it's you who are blinded not to see them.
I looked at his chachu entering the study and I narrowed my eyes at his empty hands. Where's the file?
"I did as we discussed this evening. Jagjeet will never open his mouth again."
What are they even talking about?
The old man nodded. Dragging his wheelchair back and looking at the black sky through the glass, he gritted, "Someone's digging old graves."
The other man nodded, "While digging their own."
Without another word, Chachu left and I sat there contemplating.
They've always known that someone is trying to kill all those who were involved in Nimi's case back then. But they are worried now only. Why?
What did I do to trigger them?
