Ruhi's POV-

It took me a minute to understand what happened.

One minute, I was standing on the top of the staircase and the second I was rolling down the stairs and at last my forehead collided with something hard, making me loose my consciousness.

But I could hear some faint voices of the family members. Pairs of hands around my body, my head being in someone's lap,  his chachu Calling the doctor and threatening him to be here in next 10 minutes. The chaos didn't let me loose my consciousness altogether.

The next I knew I was picked up in someone's arms and placed on something soft. A cushion was placed below my head and something soft dabbed on my forehead.

It burnt.

It burnt, and I grunted. My head throbbed and I knew I had a severe concussion. I didn't even realised when the darkness engulfed me whole.

My eyes opened to stark pain at my forehead and waist. I hissed when it burnt again and I knew someone was damping the cotton on the cut, again.

I tried to open my eyes and immediately closed them on seeing the stark light right above my head.

"She is fine, Mr. Sehgal. Its just a little cut." A faint voice of the doctor fell into my ears and a hazy view of him pushing me down the stairs flashed in front of my eyes.

My blood boiled. I tried to open my eyes again and they flutter close immediately and a whimpered left my mouth.

"She is awake." Anya said and I could hear the worry in her voice.

"Ruhi...." A softer than clouds voice fell into my ears with a gentle touch caressing my scalp.
I leaned into the motherly tenderness.

"Ruhi...beta open your eyes slowly." For a moment, I thought it was my sister voice and her touch and God forbid me, I didn't want to realise the reality.

But my haze broke as another touch landed on my arm, and I wanted nothing more than to shrink away from the person.

"Ruhi...are you okay?" His voice laced with concern.

I tried to open my eyes again but couldn't due to the damn light.

Anya immediately kept her duppata above my eyes shielding them. I opened them very slowly and it took me a moment to adjust to the light.

The first thing I saw wasn't even the last thing I wanted to see. His face was morphed into worry but his eyes, his damn eyes were mocking me. His one hand was on my arm and I folded it removing his touch from mine. I looked up and saw his chachi keeping my head on her lap and Anya just beside her.

"Aryansh, take her to your room." His daadu said and he nodded.

"I ....ca-n ma..na..a..ge.." I tried to say weakly, but my sentence died as he picked me up in his arms and I closed my eyes. My head rested on his chest.

He took me to his room, placed me on the bed, and then stood aside, crossing his arms over his chest. His chachi placed the pillows behind me helping my back and then kissed my head.

"Rest" she said leaving.

"Let her rest" Anya said to Aryansh who rolled his eyes in turn and she left too.

He closed the door behind him and turned.

"I sooo hate you." I gritted as soon as he closed the door.

"Guess what? The feelings are mutual." He retorted and came towards me.

My heart thudded in my chest as I knew if he did something to harm me again, I won't be able to defend myself because of the anaesthetics.
